  • Interim Report at June 30, 2019 20 1 9
Interim report at June 30, 2019 20 1 9 Giampiero Pesenti 5 May 1931 - Bergamo 24 July 2019 Giampiero Pesenti died in Bergamo during the night of July 24. Engineer. Eighty-eight years, fifty of which lived intensely among the immense drafting offices of the technical department, the factories designed down to the smallest detail and therefore known in every detail, the rigorous white collar offices overlooking Bergamo Alta, the skyscraper in Paris from which you could see the Eiffel Tower, the boiserie of the sober Milan office where he sat as a managing director and president in 1984. The locations used by Giampiero Pesenti were rigorous, linear, discreet, without any ostentation. Only the small Dürer on the wall reflected the successful career of a large, historic family of entrepreneurs. The "Short XXth Century" was the cradle of Italian entrepreneurship. During the twentieth century, especially in the second part, the transformation of Italy from a rural country to the seventh industrial power on Earth was largely thanks to the actions of the great Italian industrial families, the Agnelli, Pirelli, Orlando, Marzotto, Falck, Costa, Pesenti, but also the Sinigaglia and Mattei, to extraordinary bankers, like Mattioli, great financiers, like Cuccia, and great scientists, like Natta. It was in this environment that Giampiero Pesenti was born and grew, a life that is the link between the values of that period and the globalization of the new millennium that he was able to anticipate in 1992 with the acquisition of Ciments Français. An operation that transformed Italmobiliare and Italcementi from a rich Italian cement company into a global player in the sector.

The average temperatures were the sev- Ienth highest ever recorded in the northern hemisphere. “The winter of ’06–’07 nearly killed the ski industry in Austria,” recalls Eric-Jan Kaak, Chief Information Officer at Blizzard Sport, an Austrian ski maker. At the end of that season, the company had 30% of their production left in stock at the factory. Blizzard Sport had been making skis in Mittersill, in the Salzburg- er Land region of Austria, for 60 years. It had grown to be the largest employer in the Salzach valley. Many people living in the Pinzgau region of the Alps relied directly or indirectly on the success of Blizzard Sport for their livelihood. In addition, Blizzard is a brand synonymous with Austrian sporting achievement and a great source of pride for the Austrian nation—many Austrian alpine skiers have won Olympic and World Championship medals on Blizzard skis. As the last snow of that ’06–’07 season melted, Blizzard’s new owners, Tecnica Group, from It- aly, had much to consider regarding the future of the factory in Mittersill and the future of the Blizzard brand as a renowned innovator in Alpine skiing technology. Now, six years later, workers at the Blizzard Sport factory feel a lot more secure than they did then. A fundamental shift in the manufacturing process and in the internal organization of the company has made it resilient to the uncertainty of the winter season as well as to the changing trends in such a competitive industry.

  • Financial Assets of Italmobiliare S.P.A
Annual Report Sustainability Report 2019 GIAMPIERO PESENTI 5 May 1931 - 24 July 2019 Giampiero Pesenti died in Bergamo during the night of July 24, 2019. Engineer. Eighty-eight years, fifty of which lived intensely among the immense drafting offices of the technical department, the factories designed down to the smallest detail and therefore known in every detail, the rigorous white collar offices overlooking Bergamo Alta, the skyscraper in Paris from which you could see the Eiffel Tower, the boiserie of the sober Milan office where he sat as a chief executive officer and president in 1984. The locations used by Giampiero Pesenti were rigorous, linear, discreet, without any ostentation. Only the small Dürer on the wall reflected the successful career of a large, historic family of entrepreneurs. The "Short XXth Century" was the cradle of Italian entrepreneurship. During the twentieth century, espe- cially in the second part, the transformation of Italy from a rural country to the seventh industrial power on Earth was largely thanks to the actions of the great Italian industrial families, the Agnelli, Pirelli, Or- lando, Marzotto, Falck, Costa, Pesenti, but also the Sinigaglia and Mattei, to extraordinary bankers, like Mattioli, great financiers, like Cuccia, and great scientists, like Natta.
