DISTRIBUTION CENTER USE
The schools use of the Distribution Center has had a growth of 86%. This increase is a result of the increased usage of primarily four schools:

STUDENT PRODUCT PRESENTATION
During the Lehigh County Schools Joint Purchasing Board monthly meeting, a product demonstration on items housed in the LCTI Distribution Center is presented by a LCTI Marketing and Business Education student. The following students have performed a presentation:
November 2007 Meeting Dariluz Figueroa, Allentown School District, LCTI CAP Program spoke on ink and laser cartridges. January 2008 Meeting Maximilian Buendia, Allentown School District, LCTI Academic Center Program spoke on transparencies and pens. March 2008 Meeting Demi Majczan, Emmaus High School, LCTI Academic Center Program spoke on the hardware catalog.
LEHIGH VALLEY COOPERATIVE PURCHASING COUNCIL
We continue to explore positive benefits of working in cooperative with this group. The members of this organization will be able to purchase off of the Lehigh County Schools Joint Purchasing Board’s coarse paper bid for 2008-09.
ART SUPPLY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Ms. Ivy Bauman, Director of Business Services for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, has coordinated the effort for the implementation of the first Art Supply Bid for 2008-2009.
Ms. Anne Sikorski-Schneider of Southern Lehigh School District and Mr. Daniel Moyer of Whitehall/Coplay School District need to be recognized for their effort and assistance in the complicated process of item specification creation. Thank you.
ATHLETIC/TRAINER/FIRST AID/NURSE SUPPLY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The process has started for the fourth annual bid for Athletic and Trainer supplies. Page 1
The members of this committee recently held a productive meeting. It was decided a separate work session will be called for Athletic Directors and School Trainers to streamline the products we bid as a county. It was also decided the group wishes to start utilizing the use of the Distribution Center for their most highly utilized products.
CUSTODIAL AND MAINTENANCE SUPPLY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
This group is presently in the process of performing the annual bid for the following major product lines: Coarse Paper Custodial and Maintenance Supplies Floor Care Supplies
The following bids were recently approved by the Joint Purchasing Board:
Athletic Field Supply Bid The Joint Purchasing Board approved this bid at their November 2007 meeting. This first year bid totaled $36,399.75.
The following schools participated in the bid: Catasauqua Area School District Lehigh Carbon Community College Parkland School District Salisbury Twp. School District Whitehall/Coplay School District
Plumbing Supply Bid The Joint Purchasing Board approved this bid at their January 2008 meeting. This third year bid totaled $7,983.20.

Trash Can Liner Bid The Joint Purchasing Board approved this bid at their January 2008 meeting. This fifth year bid totaled $49,969.50.

Lighting Supply Bid The Joint Purchasing Board approved this bid at their March 2008 meeting. This third year bid totaled $24,175.68.

GENERAL OFFICE AND CLASSROOM SUPPLY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Distribution Center will perform a bid for the most highly utilized products purchased from the Distribution Center under this class of products.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND AUDIO VISUAL SUPPLY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
This committee has expressed the desire to posting an electronic catalog from a vendor approved under either the U.S. Communities or the PA Department of General Services. The viability of this is presently being researched.
SCIENCE SUPPLY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Ms. Nancy Mautino, Fiscal Coordinator for the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, has coordinated the effort for the implementation of the first Science Supply Bid for 2008-2009.
Mr. Carl Keller of Whitehall/Coplay School District and Mr. Robert Bydlon of Catasauqua Area School District need to be recognized for their effort and assistance in the complicated process of item specification creation. Thank you.
