ORANGE COUMTY CALI FORNIA GENEALOGiLf\L SOCIETY DOYLE FAMILY NEWS VOLUME XI, NUMBER 2 GALEN THOMAS DOYAL Galen met Beatrice Irva BOWYER, the 1894 -1971 daughter of Henry Isaac BOWYER and Emily INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA Leonorah BURGETT, whom he married on 10 June 1920 in Indianapolis. Galen and Beatrice had two children: Dean Alexander DOYAL, born in 1922; Hyla Galen Thomas DOY AL, a son of Doctor Juanita DOY AL, born I June 1925; and they raised an Roscoe Neldo DOY AL, MD and Minnie Bell (nee adopted six year old girl, Alice Irene Leonard DOY AL, THOMAS) DOYAL, was born in Chicago, Cook who had been born in 1930. County, Illinois on 4 January 1894. Galen spent his early boyhood in Frankfort, Clinton County, Indiana where his father practiced medicine and his grandfather, Judge Samuel Howard DOY AL, conducted his law practice and served as Circuit Court Judge. Doctor DOY AL relocated his medical practice to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1906, when Galen was about 12 years of age. For about ten years, from 1932 to 1942, Galen worked as a pharmacist for several drug stores in Indianapolis. In 1942 Galen and Beatrice opened and 1 Galen Thomas DOYAL operated their own drug store at 31 • Street and 1920 Northwestern Avenue until the property was condemned for new road construction. They then Galen graduated from Manual Training High moved to Crothersville, Indiana to be near their School in Indianapolis. He was also a graduate of the daughter and son-in-law, who is also a pharmacist. 1 Indianapolis College of Pharmacy in 1912. Greg states his branch of the DOYLE progenitor Edward DOYLE, the Elder (1700-1741) and Family has been in Livingston County, Kentucky since Priscilla CONNELL of .Prince William County, around 1830. Virginia.e The information Greg has found indicates the progenitor of his lineage was Dennis DOYLE, of WILLIAMFRANKLIN DOYLE Albemarle County, Virginia since .. before)760. It has 1856 -1928 been well documented there was a person named BELMONT COUNTY, OHIO Dennis DOYLE in that early environment. Even today there remain places presumably named for the DOYLE Family, such as Doylestown, Doyle Creek, and Doyles Linda Gay DOYLE, of Delta County, Falls. The next link is to an Edward DOYLE born in Colorado is searching for her DOYLE Family roots. Ireland in 1735 and who died in Harrison County, Linda, is a daughter of Lester Allen DOYLE and Ruth Kentucky in October 1796. Further lineage continues LaVefueTHOMAS. She has traced her ancestors for as: four generations to William Franklin and Amy DOYLE • DOYLE, William, born 1795, Harrison Co., KY and is intent to link William, her Great Grandfather, died 1830 Livingston Co., KY. with his ancestors.
