Marshmallow is a plant known for its soothing properties, which are indicated MARSHMALLOW for the treatment of irritations of all kinds. Marshmallow’s constituents include mucilage from leaves (arabinogalactans, galacturonorhamnanes) and roots (rhamnogalacturonan), as well as polyphenols, starch, and amino acids.

Marshmallow has been the subject of several publications highlighting the beneficial effects of polysaccharides (e.g., rhamnogalacturonan) on mucosal irritation. The relief from irritation it produces can be explained by its action on tissue regeneration brought about by stimulating epithelial cells.
