The training provides candidates with the knowledge to setup and run a Junior Jog Scotland club using the resources and practical knowledge gained. Junior Jog Scotland clubs are designed to encourage children to adopt healthy and more active lifestyle by promoting jogging and running as a healthy, fun activity for all. You will be able to lead small groups of young and deliver task card activities. You’ll be insured to deliver these activities under the direct supervision of a coach within visible and audible range. You will learn the basic principles of running, jumping and throwing, along with lots of activity ideas through the use of task cards. This course is comprised of 3 of our modules; Fun Games, Active Badminton 1 and Active Badminton 2. The award is aimed at coaches working with beginners in the sport. The award focuses on coaching beginners and young players, with a view to introducing them to basketball. During each course candidates will be continually assessed and given feedback on their knowledge of introducing individual skills. This would be an ideal course for senior school pupils, youth workers, parents, FE/higher education students, Active Schools teams, Primary Teachers. Those completing the course will be able to lead young players under the supervision of qualified coaches. This course will allow candidates to deliver blocks of coaching under the supervision of a qualified coach or teacher and will provide them with the necessary skills to assist at basketball festivals.
