Continuing Through the Gospel of Luke

I hope you are enjoying our journey together through the gospel of Luke. Let’s make 2021 the year we, as a church family, become more ROOTED IN CHRIST than ever before. Let’s feed on His Word by studying and meditating on it in our private time, coming together to discuss it with one another, and hearing it preached and proclaimed. Most importantly, let’s ask God to help us live it out through the power of the Holy Spirit in us.

Remember that you can join others in discussing what you’ve read by attending the class that meets in the gym from 10 – 10:45 AM each Sunday. Any Sunday is a great time to begin.

Here are the scheduled readings and sermon topics for the month of February…

God Continues Building His Church

Even in the midst of a pandemic, God continues building His church and bringing new folks to our TCCC family. John and I were delighted to have 15 people join us for the January Next Steps class!

All for Jesus,

Community-Wide Prayer at Harrodsburg Community Church with their minister, Bro. Terry Morrison Hosting on Saturday, February 13, 8 AM. Please let Bro. John know if you plan on attending and if you would rather be connected by conference call.

Never Stop Praying

Like most, when I read 1 Thessalonians 5:17 in the Bible, "Never stop praying", "Pray without ceasing", or "Pray at all times", depending on which translation of the Bible being read, I often think how I would ever even attempt to do that. Someone once challenged me with the following: When your heart is full of praise to God - pray. When you are thankful - pray. When you are worried - pray. When you are afraid - pray. When you are concerned about someone, some situation, or even about yourself - pray. We are privileged to be able to talk with The Creator of the Universe at any time of the day or night about anything. The Bible teaches us to pray in Jesus Name. Author Max Lucado writes, "No other spiritual activity is guaranteed such results. God is moved by the humble, prayerful heart. God is moved by prayer." So always seek the Lord first in every situation in life and remember to - never stop praying.

Next Steps Class, Sunday, February 21, 2021, 5 PM, Student Center

This is an informal two-session class led by our Senior Minister Greg Warren and me. During this time, you will learn about the core Biblical beliefs of our church, what it means to be a church member, hear from other staff members, learn about the many different ministries, and even be given the opportunity to discover how God uniquely designed you to serve Him in His kingdom work here on earth. And if you would like, you can even join in on a tour of our church building, including the children's basement area that is currently under construction. If you plan to attend, please let Bro. Greg, me, or Debbie in the church office know, and we will forward to seeing you there.

We are finally up and running with the students at TCCC! It was a long winter break; one that were not accustomed to. We are finally on the go! Praying for no interruptions! With that said, we would love for your student to be involved with our student ministry! Currently, we are meeting in the main auditorium on the campus of TCCC. If you are confused as to where that is, look for the green flags once you come on campus. We meet every Wednesday night from 6:30-8:00. Because of COVID-19, we open the doors at 6:15 for students to come inside-doors will not be unlocked until that time. Social distancing, masks and temperature checks are still required to enter the building for the time being. This past week, we started a new series that we titled “Back to the Basics”. We are taking the month of February to look at the core beliefs of our Christian faith. One of the big things that we strive for in the student ministry, is to equip the students with the biblical truths that they will need to be the leaders of tomorrow. In order to equip them, we need to make sure their foundation is strong. That is where the new series, “Back to the Basics” comes in to play! This is a great time for you student to be involved with the Student Ministry! If they have not connected with us before, we hope they do now. There have been some who have asked about CIY this summer. As of right now, we are planning on CIY to go on as normal. How that normal will look; we do not know. For now, we are planning on it happening in June. When/If we hear anything from CIY, we will communicate that to you as soon as we are brought up to speed. As always, thank you for the continued prayers for our Student Ministry! We are excited about what February will bring for our Students!

Hard to believe it is already February and we are well into 2021. I enjoy February – this is the month of my daughter’s birthday, the month that’s all about love, and a time for us to look forward to Spring with anticipation and excitement. I am excited for nicer, warmer weather and more sunshine. We took a short break from our Wednesday night TEAM KID, but excited to get back together and enjoy time with one another. We have missed our TEAM KID family and always love when our kids and volunteers can come back together, worship with one another, smile, laugh, and learn more about their Savior. If your child is not attending, please bring them Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:00. We will feed them, worship with them, share God’s love with them, and so much more. We have lots of great activities/lessons planned while using our interactive curriculum from Group Publishing, titled “Simply Loved”. Many of you have asked about Children’s Choir and questioned when we may be starting again. Our plan is to get started early Spring on Sunday evenings. Our Children’s Choir has not been together since before Covid and we know we have many children who are ready to sing and ring bells. I will keep everyone updated on our plans going forward, but we hope to begin meeting together again early Spring. For those of you that don’t know or haven’t seen the updated pictures on our TCCC Children’s Ministry Facebook page, progress is being made in the basement with our Children’s Ministry area. They have started framing! Seeing what will be walls going up in the area and being able to see the area that the children will have to worship, sing, laugh, play, spend time with one another, and most importantly learn about Christ, overwhelms me with emotions of all kinds. I can’t wait to occupy this area with our children ages preschool – 5th grade and the children of TCCC have a safe space to grow in their faith. Exciting times are ahead for the TCCC Children’s Ministry. Thank you for your continued love and support for the children of TCCC and this ministry.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
