Spec., M.A. Principal for Academic Affairs Elizabeth Baker, Ph.D. Principal for Student Affairs The generous contributions of our amazing St. Teresa’s Academy supporters, including donors, faculty, staff, parents, and students, led to some incredible accomplishments during the past year. With their help, the level of education and opportunities open to our students has, once again, risen to new levels. We are truly realizing our mission of educating, encouraging, and empowering young women to succeed. Included among the extraordinary achievements accomplished during the last academic year are: • In March of 2019, St. Teresa’s Academy attained a near-perfect accreditation score from the North Central Association/AdvancED during the most recent process. St. Teresa’s received an Index of Education Quality® (IEQ®) score of 387, out of 400 possible points. Out of 30 Standards AdvancED uses to rank Educational Excellence, STA received the highest marks with all 30 Standards. • St. Teresa’s became the second school in Missouri or Kansas and the second all-girls school in the United States to earn the AdvancED Certification for Excellence in STEM Education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). • STA earned approval to award the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy to qualified students in French, Latin, and Spanish. This designation means that our students who have attained a high level of proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in one or more languages (in addition to English) can achieve this distinctive recognition. • Seniors from the class of 2019 participated in an intense, guided Capstone research experience in their English classes. This culminating research opportunity equips our students to delve into deep, interdisciplinary thinking and writing. The dedicated and experienced faculty and staff of St. Teresa’s Academy works hard to help STA students achieve academic excellence. We could not accomplish much of the work we do without the generosity of our stakeholders and donors. Thank you to the benefactors in this report who have helped to make our achievements possible. Your commitment to St. Teresa’s Academy is pivotal in helping our young women to reach their dreams, enabling them to go forth to change the world!
