M ARIA K ATZARAVA - Soprano Young mexican soprano Maria Katzarava became famous on the international musical scene in 2008, when she won the first prize in Opera and Zarzuela categories at the Placido Domingo’s Operalia contest. Katzarava has already sung in some among the world’s leading theaters, including ROH Covent Garden in London, Teatro alla Scala in Milano, Opéra de Lausanne, Florida Grand Opera in Miami, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Regio di Parma, working with such conductors as Donato Renzetti, Daniel Oren, Michele Mariotti, Gustavo Dudamel, Alain Guingal, Paolo Carignani and Daniele Callegari. In 2010 she made her London Covent Garden debut as Juliette in Roméo et Juliette under the baton of Daniel Oren. In the same role she triumphed at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opéra de Lausanne, Florida Grand Opera, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, St.Étienne and in Moscow. Among her other exciting portrayals, we can mention La traviata (Violetta) at Grand Théâtre de Genève and at Florida Grand Opera, La Muette de Portici (Isabella) and I Pagliacci (Nedda) at Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, L’amico Fritz (Suzel) at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Rigoletto (Gilda) during a Japan tour with Teatro alla Scala, Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Antonia, Stella and Giulietta) in the theatres of Piacenza, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Carmen (Micaëla) at Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Turandot (Liù) at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Terme di Caracalla in Rome and Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico (Tuscany) with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino conducted by Zubin Mehta. In concert, she sung Vier letzte Lieder with the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna conducted by Michele Mariotti, Beethoven’s IX Symphony at the Festival of St. Denis, Rossini’s Stabat Mater at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari.
