Midwestern University is pleased to present our annual Bright Lights, Shining Stars Gala on October 20. This event celebrates our commitment to our community and to service.The COMET award will be presented to Mr. Al McCoy, long-time announcer for the Phoenix Suns and Glendale resident. The Shooting Star award will be accepted by Darlene Newsom, Chief Executive Officer of the United Methodist Outreach Ministries (UMOM), on behalf of UMOM New Day Centers. Additionally, the University will award $10,000 in scholarships to deserving students for their achievements in academics and service.
