  • Pressive Cast of Thinkers and Performers
Table of Contents Long Synopsis Short Synopsis Michael Caplan Biography Key Production Personnel Filmography Credit List Magicians & Scholars Cover design by Lara Marsh, Illustration by Michael Pajon A Magical Vision /Long Synopsis ______________________________________________________ A Magical Vision spotlights Eugene Burger, a far-sighted philosopher and magician who is considered one of the great teachers of the magical arts. Eugene has spent twenty-five years speaking to magicians, academics, and the general public about the experience of magic. Advocating a return to magic’s shamanistic, healing traditions, Eugene’s “magic tricks” seek to evoke feelings of awe and transcendence, and surpass the Las Vegas-style entertainment so many of us visualize when we think of magicians. Mentors and colleagues have emerged throughout Eugene’s globe-trotting career. Among them is Jeff McBride, a recognized innovator of contemporary magic, and Max Maven, a one-man-show who performs a unique brand of “mind magic” to audiences worldwide. Lawrence Hass created the world’s first magic program in a liberal arts setting, where his seminar has attracted an impressive cast of thinkers and performers. The film, however, is Eugene’s journey. It began in 1940s Chicago, a city already renowned as the center of classic magic performance. Yale Divinity School followed, leading Eugene to the world of Asian mysticism. From there came the creation of Hauntings, a tribute to the sprit theatre of the 19th century, and the gore of the Bizarre Magick movement. Today Eugene’s performances and lectures draw inspiration from the mythology of India to the Buddhism of magical theory. On this stage, the magicians and thinkers open doors to an astounding world, a world that we rarely take time to see.

Adrian Smith, then current Dean of the Society of American Magicians. At the time, Harold as he was known to his friends, had the largest magic library in the world. Often Harold was a dinner guest at our house and as usual after our meal “the boys” would discuss magic and collecting. Harold’s plan for his books and ephemera was to donate it all to his alma mater, Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. As we all know that’s what happened to his collection. Ed on the other hand disagreed with Harold’s plan and said that when the time came for him to dissolve his library he wanted everything to be sold; so that other collectors could enjoy what he had amassed.

Rock Is Life http://www.rock-is-life.com/reviewsinbrief.htm Reviews In Brief (2007) (2006) (2005) (2004) 2007 STARZ Greatest Hits Live MVD Entertainment Group 2007 "The live collection of the 70’s rockers greatest hits seems to capture the band in fine form. The CD is compiled from at least 3 different performances and while I found the sound to be adequate to mediocre, the quality of their material does seem to shine through. While I wouldn’t put the band in my own personal Top 10 of 1970’s rockers, they are pretty good. I think it is a shame I wasn’t musically aware in the 70’s because I probably would have liked the band. They’ve got a lively and energetic sound tied to that particular era and it does keep the ears engaged, even during the first half of the disc where the quality of the recording isn’t even as good as some bootlegs I’ve listened to over the years. The audio quality is the biggest problem I had with the entire disc. I think if you are going to reissue this type of album, you really need to make the sound more Official Site presentable than what a typical bootlegger could accomplish. You want to check out tracks like “Detroit Girls”, “Any Way That You Want It”, and “Cherry Baby” in particular, but surprisingly at least to me, each song is pretty good. Search Amazon: If you like the 70’s rock era, you probably know of the band. You’ll definitely like this release.

Abra-Kid-Abra 314-961-6912 www.abrakid.com Abra-Kid-Abra © 2016 Magic 1 Thanks for having your child participate in our Magic Camp. These notes are provided to help you assist you child in mastering the tricks. The notes are based on our 30 hour camp. If your program is less hours, not all this material will be covered, so some of it will be extra. If you have questions on anything, please let us know. 314-961-6912 [email protected] Good luck! Abra-Kid-Abra © 2016 Magic 2 Nines Trick Effect: To a cute story, magician shows a card with the word “nine” written, but with the “i” not dotted. She places the card face down on the table, & writes a dot on another piece of paper. She rubs the dot and it disappears. When she turns over the “nine” card, the “i” is now dotted! Props: Nine card, a pen or pencil, and a piece of paper. Secret: The word “nine” reads the same upside down or right side up, as it is written in cursive. When “nine” is right side up, the “i” is dotted. But when it is upside down, it isn’t—the dot is below the word and covered up by the thumb, which holds the card. As for the dot disappearing, you pretend to draw a dot on the paper but really don’t. Preparation: Have each student put a light pencil dot on the back of the card near the top edge of the card where the dot is.
