In 1997 he established the famous Tsunami dance label together with Robert Smit & the German dance company Purple Eye Entertainment. He left Tsunami and Purple Eye in 2005. In 2005 Ferry started his own company named Flashover Recordings. The first record on Flashover was Who's Knockin'? with a Flashover remix. The single Fire was the next record. This would be the second album released under Flashover. Since his first solo album, Ferry has continued to evolve his style. He started with the concept name L.E.F. which stands for "Loud. Electronic. Ferocious." and has organized events under this name. Ferry released his second solo album aptly named L.E.F. Ferry has also participated in compiling and mixing the Trance Nation series with Ministry of Sound which has sold millions of copies worldwide. Trance Nation 2002 was the latest Trance Nation compilation from Ferry. Next to Trance Nation, he compiled many other mixed CDs such as Creamfields, Tsunami One, Dance Valley 2001, Passport: Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mixed Live: Spundae @ Circus Los Angeles, Live at Innercity, World Tour Tokyo and Washington, and many others. He has been known to use a lot of other aliases including: 4x4, A Jolly Good Fellow, Albion, Bypass, Cyber F, Dance Therapy, Delaquente, Digital Control, East West, Eon, Exiter, Ferr, Firmly Undaground, Free Inside, Funk Einsatz, Kinky Toys, Lunalife, Moonman, Party Cruiser, Pulp Victim, Raya Shaku, Sidewinder, System F, The Nutter and Zenithal. In addition to these releases, Ferry has also worked with other DJs on several projects. Together with Tijs Verwest (DJ Ti?sto), he set up Gouryella and Vimana. Ferry has also teamed up with Vincent de Moor on the one-time alias project Veracocha. In addition, Ferry has worked with Benny Benassi to produce the one-time alias FB/FB feat. Edun, which stands for the first letter of each of their first names, Ferry and Benny, and also features Edun, Russian/Nigerian gospel and electronic vocal singer. Other groups that he has been in include: Alter Native, Blade Racer, Discodroids, Double Dutch, Elektrika, Energiya, fernick, Mind To Mind, Nixieland, Penetrator, Project Aurora, Riptide, Roef, S.O.A., SCUM, Selected Worx, Sons of Aliens, Soundcheck, Spirit of Adventure, Starparty, and The Tellurians. Moreover, his track Ferry Corsten & Ramin Djawadi - Prison Break Theme (Ferry Corsten Breakout Mix) is now famous worldwide due to the success of the Prison Break television series. Chris Bunger’s stunning copse of tall trees reaching for the sky and light draws us out of the current darkness of the world to a spiritual point of light and hope and life. Lynda Jung’s 1st place - Christine Bunger “See the Light” reflection on time stretches us to think of time past, present and future, within the clock-like piece she places organic and non-organic elements of life. Fred Kingwill’s small piece uses the circular, womb-like nature of the nest holding the promise of new life to strengthen our hope in the future. Ellen also found it interesting that each of these pieces effectively broke the traditional rule of not centering the focal point on the page. Is there a way you can lighten it up a little? Be careful about overdoing it. There are so few albums that are really ABOVE, you know? And we need a little old school in here because I don't know any of the references you make. The past year in popular music has fostered the explosion of Electronic Dance Music and a new generation of neon­clad ravers in America, taking the music from its roots in the clubs and abandoned warehouses of inner cities and dropping it on festival stages big and bright enough to see from space. As tidal waves of young, talented artists, and veterans alike, fight for their share of the spotlight, Russian­German producer Anton Zaslovski, better known as Zedd, has separated himself from the heard with his gut­punching electro­house style and the genre’s most anticipated full­length album release since it’s rise into the American mainstream, his debut record, Clarity. After sending OWSLA record label head honcho and dubstep king, Skrillex, a sample of his work in 2011, Zedd punched his ticket straight to the top of the game. Although Clarity is the artist’s first studio album, it’s seamless flow from track to track and heavy electro influences point to a musician wise beyond his years. Traditionally, EDM has been a genre dominated by single releases with many artists struggling to create cohesive full­length albums that make any sort of lasting impression on listeners.

    Piotr Mulawka Leksykon polskiej i światowej muzyki elektronicznej „Zrealizowano w ramach programu stypendialnego Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego-Kultura w sieci” Wydawca: Piotr Mulawka [email protected] © 2020 Wszelkie prawa zastrzeżone ISBN 978-83-943331-4-0 2 Przedmowa Muzyka elektroniczna narodziła się w latach 50-tych XX wieku, a do jej powstania przyczyniły się zdobycze techniki z końca XIX wieku m.in. telefon- pierwsze urządzenie służące do przesyłania dźwięków na odległość (Aleksander Graham Bell), fonograf- pierwsze urządzenie zapisujące dźwięk (Thomas Alv Edison 1877), gramofon (Emile Berliner 1887). Jak podają źródła, w 1948 roku francuski badacz, kompozytor, akustyk Pierre Schaeffer (1910-1995) nagrał za pomocą mikrofonu dźwięki naturalne m.in. (śpiew ptaków, hałas uliczny, rozmowy) i próbował je przekształcać. Tak powstała muzyka nazwana konkretną (fr. musigue concrete). W tym samym roku wyemitował w radiu „Koncert szumów”. Jego najważniejszą kompozycją okazał się utwór pt. „Symphonie pour un homme seul” z 1950 roku. W kolejnych latach muzykę konkretną łączono z muzyką tradycyjną. Oto pionierzy tego eksperymentu: John Cage i Yannis Xenakis. Muzyka konkretna pojawiła się w kompozycji Rogera Watersa. Utwór ten trafił na ścieżkę dźwiękową do filmu „The Body” (1970). Grupa Beaver and Krause wprowadziła muzykę konkretną do utworu „Walking Green Algae Blues” z albumu „In A Wild Sanctuary” (1970), a zespół Pink Floyd w „Animals” (1977). Pierwsze próby tworzenia muzyki elektronicznej miały miejsce w Darmstadt (w Niemczech) na Międzynarodowych Kursach Nowej Muzyki w 1950 roku. W 1951 roku powstało pierwsze studio muzyki elektronicznej przy Rozgłośni Radia Zachodnioniemieckiego w Kolonii (NWDR- Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk). Tu tworzyli: H. Eimert (Glockenspiel 1953), K.
