EN — 04.05.2012 — 001.001 — 3 ▼B AGREEMENT between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Community’, and THE SWISS CONFEDERATION, hereinafter referred to as ‘Switzerland’, together referred to hereinafter as ‘the Parties’, RESOLVED gradually to eliminate the barriers affecting the bulk of their trade in accordance with the provisions on the establishment of free-trade areas in the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organisation, Whereas, in Article 15 of the Free Trade Agreement of 22 July 1972, the Parties declared their readiness to foster, so far as their agricultural policies allow, the harmonious development of trade in agricultural products to which that Agreement does not apply, HAVE AGREED AS FOLLOWS: Article 1 Objective 1. The objective of this Agreement shall be to strengthen the free- trade relations between the Parties by improving the access of each to the market in agricultural products of the other. 2. ‘Agricultural products’ means the products listed in Chapters 1 to 24 of the International Convention on the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System. For the purposes of applying Annexes 1, 2 and 3 to this Agreement, the products falling under Chapter 3 and headings 16.04 and 16.05 of the Harmonised System and the products covered by CN codes 0511 91 10, 0511 91 90, 1902 20 10 and 2301 20 00 shall be excluded. 3. This Agreement shall not apply to the subjects covered by Protocol 2 to the Free Trade Agreement, with the exception of the relevant concessions granted in Annexes 1 and 2 hereto. Article 2 Tariff concessions 1. Without prejudice to the concessions set out in Annex 3, the tariff concessions granted by Switzerland to the Community shall be as listed in Annex 1 hereto. 2. Without prejudice to the concessions set out in Annex 3, the tariff concessions granted by the Community to Switzerland shall be as listed in Annex 2 hereto. 2002A4430 — EN — 04.05.2012 — 001.001 — 4 ▼B Article 3 Concessions regarding cheese The specific provisions applicable to trade in cheeses shall be as set out in Annex 3 hereto. Article 4 Rules on origin The rules on origin mutually applicable under Annexes 1, 2 and 3 to this Agreement shall be as set out in Protocol 3 to the Free Trade Agreement. Article 5 Removing technical barriers to trade 1. ►M18 The way technical obstacles to trade in agricultural products are to be reduced in the following fields shall be as set out in Annexes 4 to 12 hereto: ◄ — Annex 4 on plant health, — Annex 5 on animal feed, — Annex 6 on seeds, — Annex 7 on trade in wine-sector products, — Annex 8 on the mutual recognition and protection of names of spirit drinks and aromatised wine-based drinks, — Annex 9 on organically produced agricultural products and food­ stuffs, — Annex 10 on recognition of conformity checks for fruit and vegetables subject to marketing standards, — Annex 11 on animal health and zootechnical measures applicable to trade in live animals and animal products, ▼M18 — Annex 12 on the protection of designations of origin and geographical indications for agricultural products and foodstuffs. ▼B 2. Article 1(2) and (3) and Articles 6, 7, 8, and 10 to 13 of this Agreement shall not apply to Annex 11. Article 6 Joint Committee on Agriculture 1. A Joint Committee (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Committee’) made up of representatives of the Parties shall be set up. 2. The Committee shall be responsible for the administration of this Agreement and shall ensure its good functioning. 2002A4430 — EN — 04.05.2012 — 001.001 — 5 ▼B 3. The Committee shall be empowered to adopt decisions as provided for in this Agreement and the Annexes hereto. Such decisions shall be implemented by the Parties in accordance with their own rules. 4. The Committee shall establish its own Rules of Procedure. 5. The Committee shall act by mutual agreement. 6. To ensure the proper implementation of this Agreement, the Parties shall hold consultations within the Committee at the request of either Party. 7. The Committee shall set up the working groups needed to administer the Annexes to this Agreement. Its Rules of Procedure shall specify, in particular, the membership of such working groups and the way they are to operate. ▼M18 8. The Committee is authorised to approve authentic versions of the agreement in new languages. ▼B Article 7 Settlement of disputes Either Party may bring a matter under dispute which concerns the inter­ pretation or application of this Agreement to the Committee. The latter shall endeavour to settle the dispute.

(2) Since the amendments in question are not minor within the meaning of Article 53(2) of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012, the Commission published the amendment application in the Official Journal of the European Union (5) as required by Article 50(2)(a) of that Regulation. (3) As no statement of opposition under Article 51 of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 has been received by the Commission, the amendments to the specification should be approved, HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION: Article 1 The amendments to the specification published in the Official Journal of the European Union regarding the name ‘Roquefort’ (PDO) are hereby approved.

    IAEG Commission 16 - UNESCO World Heritage Greece Petrified Forest of Lesvos Island Engineering geological conditions and problem: The area enclosed by the villages of Eressos, Antissa and Sigri, exposes large accumulations of fossilised tree trunks comprising the Petrified forest of Lesvos. Isolated plant-fossils have been found in many other places of the island, including the villages Molyvos, Polichnitos, Plomari and Akrasi. The formation of the petrified forest is directly related to the intense volcanic activity in Lesvos island during late Oligocene - middle Miocene. The volcanic eruptions during this time, produced lavas, pyroclastic materials and volcanic ash, which covered the vegetation of the area. The rapid covering of tree trunks, branches, and leaves led to isolation from atmospheric conditions. Along with the volcanic activity, hot solutions of silicon dioxide penetrated and impregnated the volcanic materials that covered the tree trunks. Thus the major fossilisation process started with a molecule by molecule replacement of organic plant by inorganic materials. In the case of the Petrified forest of Lesvos, the fossilisation was perfect due to favourable fossilisation conditions. Therefore morphological characteristics of the tree trunks such as the annual rings, barkers, as well as the internal structure of the wood, are all preserved in excellent condition. •All of the genera and species determined, belong to higher plant groups: Angiospermae and Gymnospermae. Protection measures already have been taken or have to be taken: Taxodioxylon gypasaceum •In order to protect the Petrified forest and ensure its proper management, five terrestrial and marine areas with fossil accumulations, as well as all the isolated fossils were declared as Protected Natural Monument with a special Presidential Decree (443 /1985).

Research resulted in advances in understanding the palaeoenvironments of the Portus. From a bathymetric point of view, the drillings indicate a 7/8 m depth for the main basins. Different sedimentary behaviors were observed: Claudius’ basin shows sand accretion, whereas the access channel to Trajan’s basin shows mud accumulation. Trajan built the second hexagonal basin because Claudius’ harbor did not protect the ships from the wind and swell, and not because it was prone to rapid silting. In terms of chronology, the channel between both basins worked between the end of the 2nd century and the beginning of the 5th century, when it became completely clogged.

COVID-19 cases detected in accommodation centers in mainland Greece, while thousands of asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants are living under unsafe and degrading conditions at the camps on the Aegean islands and others in the main- land. They live mostly in overcrowded Reception and Identification Centers (RICs) and accommodation centers under deplorable conditions, the lack of proper shelter, the extremely unhygienic living conditions. Migrants, asylum seekers and refugees liv- ing in the RICs faced multiple challenges and vulnerabilities that must be considered when responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alcuni casi di COVID-19 sono stati individuati nei centri di accoglienza della terraferma della Grecia, mentre migliaia di richiedenti asilo, profughi e migranti continuano a vivere in condizioni non salutari e degradanti nei campi delle isole egee e altri nella terraferma. Per lo più, essi vivono nei sovraffollati Centri di Identificazio- ne e di Recezione (RIC) e in centri di accoglienza in condizioni deplorevoli, senza un vero e proprio rifugio, in condizioni di vita estremamente non igieniche. I migranti, i richiedenti asilo e i profughi che vivono nei RIC devono far fronte a diverse sfide e vulnerabilità che devono essere prese in considerazione nel momento di affrontare la pandemia del COVID-19.
