Bio: After hearing the news regarding the defeat of Jin Kazama and the Mishima Zaibatsu, it seemed as though Hwoarang and his resistance group could breathe a little easier but that relief would be cut short after hearing the news about acquiring the Mishima Zaibatsu. Suspicion grew within Hwoarang, knowing that Heihachi could may as well pick up where Jin left off. Never the one to leave anything to chance, Hwoarang gathered his resistance and began planning their assault on the supposedly weakened Mishima Zaibatsu. Throughout the many months of planning, Hwoarang couldn't take his mind off of what happened to Jin. He took time away from his resistance, searching for him but along the way, he started to hear rumors of another resistance regime. Hwoarang wasn't sure if this had anything to do with Jin but when a cryptic video aired on TV, a voice that sounded familiar to him proclaimed the words. "All will know the Fists of Raijin." To Hwoarang, he was in complete shock of who it was. "Jin's still alive!" Hwoarang had to find out who the Fists of Raijin were as was the case of hearing the news of the Warrior of the Iron Soul tournament announced by Heihachi Mishima. Hwoarang knew that this was his chance to confront Jin Kazama and to single handedly end the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Rivals:

Stage 4 Rival/Stage: Yun-Seong/Seoul (Day) Hwoarang is walking around Seoul when he overhears a breakdancing group talking about the Fists of Raijin. Hwoarang hears this and asks them what they know about the Fists of Raijin, which catches the attention of Yun- Seong. There's a short staredown between the two as their appearances are similar but Yun-Seong breaks the silence, asking Hwoarang if he's some sort of cop looking info on the group but Hwoarang says no. Yun-Seong rudely tells Hwoarang to "step off" but Hwoarang tells him to "make him" as he gets in his fighting stance, to which Yun-Seong smirks and gets in his fighting stance. After defeating Yun-Seong, Hwoarang tells him that he show some respect, to which Yun-Seong tells him off. Hwoarang smirks and tells Yun-Seong that he reminds him a little of himself, almost like he could be his "little brother" as he walks away.

Stage 7 Rival/Stage: Jin Kazama/Sydney Hwoarang continues his search for Jin when he comes across two men dressed in black riot gear, ski masks, and white fists on their shirt. Hwoarang asks them if they know anything about the Fists of Raijin, to which the men were about to confront Hwoarang until a male voice calls out to them, telling them to cease. As the men back away, it is revealed that Jin Kazama is the leader of the Fists of Raijin. Hwoarang sees Jin and tells him "long time no fight" to which Jin replies that he is long overdue to prove his skills once again. After Hwoarang defeats Jin, Hwoarang tells him where he could find Heihachi Mishima. Jin tells him to look for him in Spain and that he guarantees him that he will find him there. Hwoarang nods and heads off. Jin watches Hwoarang run off as he smiles and calls him a fool.

Sub-Boss (Stage 9): Cervantes/Valencia As Hwoarang continues his search for Heihachi Mishima, he comes across a man in a business suit who reveals himself to be Cervantes De Leon. Cervantes tells Hwoarang that his search for Heihachi Mishima is meaningless and that he should just walk away while he still has life breathing within him, to which Hwoarang takes offense to this and prepares to fight. After defeating Cervantes, Hwoarang tells him that if he was Heihachi Mishima, he would've done worse than what he actually did to him. Hwoarang leaves and continues his search.

Final Stage: Nightmare or Night Terror/Mishima Zaibatsu Laboratory As Hwoarang arrives at the laboratory, he hears screams from scientists as well as blaring alarms and sirens. A large figure, cloaked in azure armor, reveals itself to be eitherNightmare or Night Terror. The azure armor glows laser red eyes as it bellows."Prepare for your demise!" as it sprouts a deformed arm (as Nightmare) or golden wings (as Night Terror).

Ending: After defeating Nightmare or Night Terror, Hwoarang heads to Mishima Zaibatsu headquarters, where a raid had already taken place. He sees Jin delivering a finishing blow to Heihachi. Afterwards, as Jin is about to retake the Mishima Zaibatsu, Hwoarang and his resistance group charges in as another battle ensues. Hwoarang then says that "The Mishima Zaibatsu won't have a repeat performance" to Jin as the two engage in battle as the screen fades.
