FATIGUE JACKETS - We make two styles of these. First is the sky blue wool jacket as shown at right. It has a nine button front fastening with small sized pewter eagle buttons, split cuffs and shoulder straps. Sleeves are lined, body unlined but with all seams flat- felled. Two outside pockets set into the jacket fiont. The jacket itself is trimmed all around with quarter inch white tape. As with all our Mexican War we make these up so that there is no visible machine sewing. This means that all the tape and top stitching, as well as buttonholes are done by hand. At left is the cotton fatigue jacket. This is also unlined and cut the same pattern but without the white tape trimming. All the seams finished and felled by hand so there are no raw edges inside. Wool fatigue jacket ...... $275.00 Cotton fatigue jacket ...... $185.00

TROUSERS -We can sew these up in either wool or cotton and in either fall front or center . The Army regulations changed to center fly in 1845 so it is open to discussion as to which style was being used in Mexico. Both styles have a back and a set of four lace holes in the waistband to insure a proper Bt. All visible sewing such as buttonholes or top stitching is done by hand. The use of sewing machines begins about 1850. If the Mexican War had taken place a few years later we could sell these a good deal cheaper. Be that as it may, either style of trouser - In wool ...... $14-0.00 In cotton ...... $125.00
