NORMANDY PARK CITY SCENE | SPRING 2018 25 Normandy Park Profile: Photographer Doug Early Photography has been a great hobby. While growing up in Westfield, New Jersey, I always brought my little Kodak camera on family vacations. This continued, as I became a young adult. I worked for Piedmont Airlines and then later USAIRWAYS. The excellent perk of having flying benefits allowed me to travel to Europe and Asia. Several years ago, a friend gave me his Canon Point and Shoot Camera and this is when I really started to get into photography. What a difference in how my pictures looked! From a stunning façade of a Pre WWII building in Prague to an intimate close up of a deer in Yosemite. I then went out and bought a Canon DSLR, and soon knew I was hooked. A couple of years ago and with my friend’s encouragement, I started to enter art festivals. I feel very honored that I’ve been juried and won awards in Burien, Federal Way, the Washington State Fair and Normandy Park. “Where Will It Lead Me” by photographer The Pacific Northwest has been a wonderful Doug Early environment to photograph, and I enjoy taking pictures of nature, landscapes and architecture. I love when a person makes a heartfelt connection through my photography. It could be because of a childhood memory, a familiar location or through the deep love of the subject matter.

As a Burien resident, I am very excited to be exhibiting my photography at Normandy Park City Hall March 19th through May 30th. There will be a reception at Normandy Park City Hall on Thursday, April 26th from 7–9 p.m. I hope that you can make it and most importantly, I hope that you enjoy my photography.
