These students have each taken a minimum of three years of marketing classes earning a B or better, competed in at least two years of DECA Competition and served as a leader on at least one major Marketing/DECA related project. This year’s Marketing Honor Students have each done far more than the minimums going above and beyond in many ways. They were designated as Marketing Honor students at graduation by wearing the DECA Stole with their graduation gown. I wanted to share with you one last celebration/reflection piece related to the DECA Community Giving pro- ject that, with the help of many caring adults, placed 2nd at the International DECA Competi- tion this year. Washington DECA recently highlighted our project success in their virtual Spring Empow- er Hour program. This professionally done video does a great job of highlighting the positive impact of community service and cel- ebrating the success of our students for coor- dinating this project. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. Summer School Six awesome staff members are retiring Highline’s summer school programs are an opportunity for this year. If your student is unable or unwilling to attend in person, we can provide a distance-learning alternative.
