INTRODUCTION

The Pinao Brickwood Memorial Collection of Hawaiian prints, maps and etchings was donated to the Territory of Hawaii by Victor S. K. Houston in October, 1938. The Archives was designated as the repository. The collection was originally framed and on public display. Subsequently the material was removed from display, the frames were discarded and the collection was stored under conditions intended to enhance long term preservation.
