MEDIA RELEASE 19 October 2019 Jonesy & Amanda win Best On-Air Team FM at Radio Awards Successful WSFM breakfast hosts Jonesy and Amanda (Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller), have been crowned Best On- Air Team (Metro FM category) at the 31st Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs), announced this evening at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane. The win caps off a great year for the much-loved duo, who have notched up 14 years on air together and previously won the coveted award in 2012 and 2014. 2GB’s drive time host Ben Fordham won Best Talk Presenter for the fifth time and 2GB morning presenter Ray Hadley was awarded Best Current Affairs Presenter, bringing his career tally of ACRAs to 33 across all categories. The Best On-Air Team (Metro AM) was won by Afternoons with Erin Molan & Natalie Peters, the first female duo to host a news/talk show on 2GB and the first all-female team to win this award in ACRAs history. NOVA’s popular drive show Kate, Tim & Marty won Best Networked Program and Best Syndicated Australian Program. Best Entertainment Presenter went to Triple M funny man Lawrence Mooney, while Rebecca Morse, half of Hit107 Adelaide’s new breakfast duo Bec & Cosi, won Best Newcomer On-Air. Richard Marsland Richard Kemble Marsland (5 September 1976 ⓠ6 December 2008) was an Australian comedy writer, actor, comedian and radio personality. Marsland started his radio career in Adelaide on the SAFM breakfast show with Greg Fleet, Marty Sheargold and James Brayshaw. He also co-hosted a live, daily morning program AM Adelaide on Channel 7, Adelaide with the multiple Logie Award-winning Anne Wills, and then hosted The Late Date Show nationally with Bessie Bardot on 2DayFM, 92.9 and FoxFM. Richard Marsland was born on September 5, 1976 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. He was a writer and actor, known for Newstopia (2007), The Glass House (2001) and BoyTown (2006). He died on December 6, 2008 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. MEDIA RELEASE 22 September 2016 Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen to host the 28th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen, best known as members of the comedy group The Chaser, will host the 28th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) in Melbourne. Chris and Andrew were part of the full Chaser team that made their radio debut on Triple M (2003) with The Friday Chaser. They have worked on radio throughout their careers and in 2015 toured their live show, a parody of celebrity Q&As entitled In Conversation with Lionel Corn. Chris is currently a regular co-host of the Merrick & Australia national drive show on Triple M and presenter of the We Was Robbed, alongside HG Nelson on Kinderling Kids Radio on DAB+ digital radio. Writers, producers and stars of the TV shows Media Circus (2014-15), The Hamster Wheel (2011- 2013), Yes We Canberra! (2010), The Chaser’s War On Everything (2006-9), The Chaser Decides (2004, 2007), CNNNN (2002-3) and The Election Chaser (2001). Their shows won two AFI awards and two Logies. The ACRAs recognise excellence in radio broadcasting across news, talk, sport, music and entertainment. This determination by the ABAC Adjudication Panel (“the Panel”) concerns the placement of an advertisement for Cellarbrations by ALM Liquor Group (“the Company”) on radio station Nova 93.7FM during the Kate, Tim & Marty show at 4.25pm, 4.45pm and 4.50pm on Friday 8 December 2017 and arises from a complaint received on 12 December 2017. 2. Alcohol marketing in Australia is subject to an amalgam of laws and codes of practice, that regulate and guide the content and, to some extent, the placement of marketing. Given the mix of government and industry influences and requirements in place, it is accurate to describe the regime applying to alcohol marketing as quasi-regulation. Ray Hadley and Bob Fulton to Finish Full-Time Roles with the Continuous Call Team
RAY HADLEY AND BOB FULTON TO FINISH FULL-TIME ROLES WITH THE CONTINUOUS CALL TEAM January 31, 2020 Ray Hadley and Bob Fulton have announced they will step back from their full-time roles with the Continuous Call Team on 2GB to allow the next generation of broadcasters to take the lead. Hadley, a Commercial Radio Australia Hall of Fame inductee, is a founding member of the team which started in 1987. Fulton, one of rugby league’s Immortals, has been working with Hadley and the team for 32 of the 33 years the Continuous Call Team has broadcast. Ray Hadley said: “I have worked either six or seven days a week for most of the past 33 years and it is now time that the young men and women who already do most of the heavy lifting are given their chance. “Bob Fulton is one of my dearest friends and he has helped guide me for the best part of my career. We have a long-standing personal agreement that we will finish our full-time roles with the Continuous Call Team together.” From 2020, Hadley and Fulton will consult and advise the Continuous Call Team, while Hadley will continue to call State of Origin games and the NRL Grand Final. Hadley is contracted to Nine Radio for a further five years and will continue to present his top-rating morning program, which is heard on 2GB, 4BC and network stations around Australia. “Ray Hadley and Bob Fulton have been institutions not only of the Continuous Call Team, but of Australian radio, for more than three decades,” said Tom Malone, Nine’s Managing Director – Radio.
