The combined cycle mode of the project has commenced operation on 20/06/1997. The station has a configuration of 3 Gas Turbines + 3 Heat Recovery Steam Generators + 1 Steam Turbine. The plant is designed for operations on Natural Gas (or) Naphtha (or) any combination of both fuels. The plant is being operated at part load using Natural Gas Supplied by Gail (India) Ltd., and sometimes on Naphtha as per the instructions of APSLDC. The project was accorded clearance by Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) vide letter # 14027/PCB/NOC/AEE/9/92-6884 dt. 16/04/1992 and by Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F) vide letter # J-13011/16/90-IA.II dt.

Godavari is the most important river in Andhra Pradesh often referred to as 'Dakshina .. Ganga'. Taking its origin in the Western ::--~<. - .." -~~-~~ojL;~ Ghats near Nasik and after cutting across the r. ",.~:#. -;'~~~~'IIi!~~~~ Eastern Ghats through the magnificent Papi Hills gorge, Godavari emerges at Polavaram into the coastal plain. From hereon, the river widens and assumes majestic proponions of about 3 kms. at Rajahmundry and nearly 6 kms. at Do wleshwaram, before it flows into the Bay 01 Bengal near Kakinada on the East Coast. At Rajahmundry, the vital Madr~s-Howrah East-Coast line crosses the Godavari and a single line bridge constructed in 1900 A. D. at a cost of Rs. 48 lakhs. spans the river. The old bridge consists of 56 span~ of 45.7 metres (150 ft.) and a land span of 12 metres (40 ft.) totalling 2,771 metres (9,096 ft.) between the abutments. The Howrah-Madras line is one of the vital Railway trunk-routes in the country carrying principally coal, steel and surplus food grains from the rich agricultural lands of coastal Andhra Pradesh to the south.

The Appellate Authority set aside the Central Zoo Authority’s Order and directed to reconsider application filed by the G.V.K. Deer Park for renewal of recognition for period beyond 23rd August, 2017 and to verify progress made by the Zoo Operator within one month. 2. And whereas, management of the G.V.K. Deer Park, Jegurupadu vide letter dated 15th July, 2019 informed this Office that the land on which the zoo exists is presently transferred by the Zoo Operator to the DISCOMS and that the Zoo Operator decided to close operation of the Zoo. Opportunity of hearing was provided to the Zoo Operator of the GVK Deer Park, Jegurupadu, on 26th August, 2019 as per provisions of Section 38-H(6) of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.
