Establishment of the Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan In accordance with the provisions of subsection 41(3) and sections 49 to 53 inclusive of The Education Act, 1995, I, Ken Krawetz, Minister of Education, do hereby order that the Martensville Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan is established, effective April 9, 2010. Further, in accordance with the provisions of sections 40, 42(1) and (6), 61 and 63 of The Education Act, 1995, and sections 28, and 50, subsection 12(2), and clause 145(1)(b) of The Local Government Election Act, do hereby order, effective April 9, 2010, the following: 1. that the number of members comprising the Board of Education of the Martensville Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan shall be five (5) and that these members shall be elected on the basis described as follows: (a) four (4) members from the City of Martensville elected at-large by the electors residing within the urban boundary of said city; (b) one (1) member elected on the basis of the sub-division described as follows: Sub-division No. 1 In Township 37, Range 5: north-west quarter of section 33; In Township 38, Range 5: sections 8, 9, 17 to 19, 30, and 31, the north-west quarter of section 3, the north half and south-west quarter of section 4, the north half of section 5, the north-east quarter of section 6, the west halves of sections 10 and 15, and those portions of sections 16, 20, 21, 29, 32, and 33 and the east halves of 22, 27, and 34 that are not included within the legal boundary of the City of Martensville; In Township 38, Range 6: the east halves of sections 13, 24, 25, and 36; In Township 39, Range 5: the west halves of sections 4 and 9, the south half and north-east quarter of section 5, the south half of section 6, the east half of section 8, and the south-west quarter of section 16; All West of the Third Meridian. Excepting those lands included within the boundaries of an Indian Reserve; 2. that the first election for the Board of Education of Martensville Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of The Local Government Election Act with nomination day being April 28, 2010; 3. that the organizational meeting of the Board of Education of the Martensville Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan shall be at a time and date not later than June 4, 2010, and at such time and in such place within the division as the newly elected members of the board may determine; 4. that the members elected to the Board of Education of the Martensville Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan shall assume office on the date that members make the declaration required by subsection 71(1) of The Education Act, 1995; 5. that the returning officer for the first election of the Board of Education of the Martensville Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan shall be Mr. Ronald W. I further order effective April 9, 2010, pursuant to section 118 of The Education Act, 1995, and in accordance with the provisions of section 53 of the said Act, that tax arrears on all properties assessed to the Martensville Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 221 of Saskatchewan shall be paid to the Prairie Spirit School Division No. 206 of Saskatchewan and further, that all taxes owing or already paid for the current year shall be apportioned between the boards of education of the said school divisions in a manner as mutually agreed upon by the respective boards of education.
