♦ SCHOOL PRESENTATION Woodcreek High School Assistant Principal Becky Rood and teachers Melanie Boisa and Lisa Edmisten presented information on the Wolfpack Tracks program. The program puts a focus on freshman students. Students are assigned to small group cohorts that meet weekly to focus on connectedness, context and confidence. The school is monitoring the progress of students’ grades and attendance to access the effectiveness of the program.  COMMUNICATIONS The District received a communication from the Placer County Office of Education that concurred with the District’s positive certification of the First Interim Report.

♦ INFORMATION MATTERS 16-014 REVIEW GOVERNOR’S FY 2016-17 BUDGET PROPOSAL Mr. Joe Landon, Assistant Superintendent Business Services, reviewed the Governor’s FY 2016-17 Budget Proposal. The Budget Proposal includes a steady increase for K-12 education. State revenue projections are conservative and the Governor has maintained fiscal restraint. Questions still remain in terms of STRS/PERS pensions and the extension of Prop 30 sales/income tax revenues.

16-015 DRAFT FY 2016-17 BUDGET PURPOSES, CONSTRAINTS AND GUIDELINES Mr. Joe Landon, Assistant Superintendent Business Services, provided a draft of the Budget, Purposes, Constraints and Guidelines document. This document is used for the development of the annual budget. The final version will be brought back to the Board for adoption on February 23, 2016.

16-016 SIERRA JOINT CONSORTIUM INFORMATION Ms. Joyce Lude, Principal Roseville Adult School, Ms. Lisa Voss, Assistant Principal Roseville Adult School and Mr. Mike Brockman, Counselor, Roseville Adult School, presented information on the Sierra Joint Consortium for Adult Education. The consortium includes three high school districts and the community college district in Placer County. Adult education is now funded with a block grant. The consortium is tasked with developing a seamless transition to college and career, to evaluate the needs and to understand the gaps in service and to collaborate on professional development across the region.

♦ ACTION MATTERS, REGULAR AGENDA 16-013.3 RESIGNATIONS – Board members commented on the resignation of Mr. John E. Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery has worked in the district for 30 years and will be retiring at the end of the school year. He was thanked for his service to the district.  COMMENTS FROM BOARD AND STAFF The student board representative from Oakmont High School reported that the students are getting ready for the Sadie Hawkins Dance. The student board representative from Granite Bay High School reported that the school was working on a spirit of positive culture and recognizing that students are affected by factors outside of their school lives. A board member reported that he attended the Ed Tech Summit at Roseville High School. He also reported attending at Martin Luther King dinner event where a number of Woodcreek High School students were in attendance. A board member congratulated the Century High School team on the approval of their charter school petition. He also noted an article in the Roseville High School Eye of the Tiger newspaper that chronicled a student who was readmitted to the school after an expulsion. A staff member thanked the staff of Roseville High School and our technology department for the hospitality and support to the make the Ed Tech forum a huge success. Marie Criste was also thanked for her work to make this a first class event. Staff congratulated John Montgomery on his upcoming retirement. Another board member commented that it was exciting to see the work being done to complete the final designs for phase one of the 6th High School.
