CDC works 24/7 to protect 2O18 America from health, safety, and security threats, both foreign and in the United States. This report describes the work of CDC’s National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) in 2018. Our expert scientists, laboratories, and emergency responders work around the clock to protect people from a multitude of health threats, including antibiotic-resistant infections, foodborne outbreaks, bioterrorism, deadly diseases like Ebola and rabies, diseases that cross borders, and illnesses spread from mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas.
