REMATCH OF THE OLYMPIC POLE VAULT HIGHLIGHTS PAYTON JORDAN U.S. OPEN MEMORIAL DAY AT NOON

Pole vaulters Tim Mack (gold) and (silver) are two of the Olympians headlining fields for the 2005 Payton Jordan U.S. Open. Thrilling finals-only competitions in a fan-friendly atmosphere make Stanford the perfect place to celebrate Memorial Day. Here’s a look at some of the top athletes who’ll be competing starting at noon on May 30th:

A free youth clinic will be held at the track beginning at 10 a.m. The first 200 participants, 14 and under, will receive a general admission ticket to the meet. The Payton Jordan U.S. Open will be televised by ESPN2 from 7- 8:30PDT.

The meet is named in honor of former Stanford coach Payton Jordan, who brought the 1960 U.S. Olympic Trials and the famed 1962 U.S.-U.S.S.R. track meet to Stanford.
