USA Synchro is proud to host a joint 2019 All-Star Camp & Coaches College at the Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. All athletes are chosen & invited by their zone. Coaches College will once again be divided into Novice/Intermediate & Age Group Coaches.

We are excited to welcome our National Team Coaches: Andrea Fuentes – Head Coach of Senior National Team, Reem Abdalazem – Senior National Team Assistant Coach, Megan Azebu – 13-15 National Team Head Coach & Ludi Perrin-Stsepaniuk – 12&U National Team Head Coach. Other presenters slated are Kim O’Neil – Consultant for Korean and Chinese National Diving Teams and Sarah Kivel from Peak Performance.

This year’s camp experience will include:  Training for Height, Flexibility & Core Strength – Land & Water  Water Skills, Figures & Tech Elements  Routine Performance  Identification & Training for Flyers  Nutrition  Building self awareness & teamwork – staying calm & focused under pressure.

**All 12&Under age Athletes must stay off campus. If a Coach is traveling with an athlete(s), they must stay in the hotel with them, but NOT in the same hotel room. Consider sharing rooms & costs with Coaches/Chaperones/Athletes from other teams.

CLINICIAN BIOGRAPHIES

ANDREA FUENTES Andrea started synchro at 9 years old after playing several other sports (figure skating and gymnastics). She moved to the Catalan training center at 13 and then the Senior National Team at aged 16. Andrea participated in 3 Olympics (Athens, Beijing and London). She won 2 Silver medals in Beijing, one Silver in duet and 1 Bronze in team in London 2012. Andrea is the most decorated athlete to date in Spanish history in the Olympics.

She won 14 medals at World Championships in Montreal 2005, in Melbourne 2007, in Rome 2009 and in Shanghai 2011. She has also 8 medals at European Championships from 2006 to 2011. She retired in 2013 and started coaching in Spain and helping other countries as well. As a synchronized swimmer, Andrea was know for her technical abilities, her hard work, determination and unusual style.

Andrea is now the USA Senior National Team Head Coach and lives in California with her husband and 2 children. She also speaks 3 languages fluently (English, French and Spanish). She graduated as a nutritional coach from the Pure Raw Academy in NY.

REEM ABDALAZEM Reem was an Egyptian synchronized swimmer who competed in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Her achievements include 1st in Figures and 4th in Duet at the 2007 Comen Cup in Geneva, Switzerland, 11th in Team at the 2007 FINA World Championships, 8th in Technical and Free Team and Technical and Free Duet at the 2008 Summer Olympics. After for Lindenwood University, she became the Head Coach of the program in 2016, and was named Coach of the Year. In 2017, Reem became the Assistant Director and Junior Team Lead Coach for Andover YMCA. She has been a freelance choreographer for 5 years coordinating with the national team of Puerto Rico, and international clubs in Brazil, Aruba, and more. She has coached and coordinated the Off Limits Camp with Andrea Fuentes for 2 years in a row in the New York and Connecticut area, and has lead her own camps in different parts of the country. She was an Assistant & Head Coach at the National Talent Camps, and was a Coach at the Olympic Development Camp last year in Seville, Spain. She is also pursuing an MBA in Sports Management, and speaks English, Arabic, Spanish and basic French.

LUDI PERRIN-STSEPANIUK Born in France, the European trained athlete began at age 6. Starting in a small club in the south of France, she was rapidly recruited to swim for one of the top clubs in Aix-en-Provence. Following numerous national titles, Ludivine moved to Paris to swim with the senior national team at INSEP where she competed for 2 years and earned national titles.

Ludi moved to Belgium in 2004 where she joined the creation team of Le Reve, an aquatic themed show created by Franco Dragone and choreographed by Guiliano Peparini. In 2005, she was part of the opening cast in Las Vegas and performed nightly with the show for 10 years, totaling over 5,000 performances. Ludivine’s talents earned her the position of synchro team captain.

In 2016, Ludi was named the Head Coach of the Southern Nevada Desert Mermaids and Training Coach for the USA Synchro national team. A highly sought-after performer, choreographer, and coach, Ludivine has been featured in numerous TV, film and music videos, as well as in print. And, students travel from across the globe to participate in her specialized training sessions and camps. In 2017 Ludi was the Head Coach of the 2017 National Elite Camp, in 2018 & 2019 she was named USA Synchro’s 12&U National Team Head Coach

In 2016, she founded Ovia Entertainment. In March 2018, Ludi received two distinguished honors. She was named USA Synchro West Zone "Coach of the Year" and named to the Vegas, Inc. 40 Under 40 top business professionals in Las Vegas. She also became a SAG-AFTRA stunt performer and will appear in motion pictures in 2020.

MEGAN AZEBU Megan Azebu was named Head Coach of the Stanford Synchronized Swim Team in 2018. She joined the Stanford program in September of 2012, serving as an assistant to Sara Lowe. Azebu helped with all aspects of the program since 2012 and has been instrumental in its success, as the Cardinal claimed Collegiate National Championships in 2013 and 2016, runner-up finishes in 2017, 2018 & 2019, and third-place showings in 2014 and 2015.

Azebu was selected head coach of the 2018 & 2019 13-15 National Teams. She previously served as an Assistant Coach for the 2017 and 2016 13-15 National Teams, as well as the Assistant Coach for the 12&U National Teams in 2014 & 2015.

A 2012 graduate of Santa Clara, Azebu came to Stanford after coaching the Santa Clara Aquamaids for five years. Megan also swam for the Aquamaids for seven years, starting with the program at age 11. As a junior team member, she placed second in team and trio events while taking fourth in the duet at the 2009 Junior Nationals.

Azebu earned a degree in psychology and holds a minor in economics. A native of San Jose, she now resides in Campbell, California.

SARAH KIVEL An Associate Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation specializing in Peak Performance. She is one of the first in the world to participate in Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence Coaching Certification program. Earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, and also Professional Coaching for Life and Work Certification at the University of California, Davis. Prior to executive coaching, she worked in international trade at The North Face.

Sarah played collegiate soccer, has skied throughout the world and is also a triathlete and mountain biker. When coaching high achieving CEOs, Entrepreneurs and athletes, she is able to incorporate some of the same tools used in competitive sports and from that created The Kivel Method™.

By combining mental and physical energy, Sarah’s clients build emotional intelligence faster and more effectively. Using two modes of coaching her signature approach and sets The Kivel Method™ apart from other coaching methods.

Sarah’s other interests include traveling overseas and taking trips in my Airstream. My adventures enable me to take risks, live mindfully, and strengthen my own emotional intelligence. I talk about these ideas and tell some of my stories in the upcomin g documentary, Alumination.

Her passion is empowering Women and Girls in Sports and feels so honored to be a part of their lives in this way!
