Performer Bios

3-2-1 Winds is the graduate woodwind quintet in residence at the University of Delaware under the direction of Lynn Moncilovich.

Renae Block received a BS in Music Education from West Chester University, PA, and has been a teacher and performer for over 30 years. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in flute performance at the University of Delaware, studying with Eileen Grycky. Previous teachers include Lois Herbine, Emily Newbold and Phyllis Lippincott Dalton. She has also been fortunate to participate in master classes with Julius Baker, Alexa Still, Gary Schocker, Mary Karen Clardy, Erica Peel, Brook Ferguson and Patricia Surmon, and has had additional flute coaching sessions with Ronna Ayscue, Cindy Anne Broz and Eve Friedman. Renae is the owner/director of The Evesham Flute Studio in NJ, the president of The Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia, and the proud mom of a freshman at the University of North Dakota!

Helaine Brown is an amateur flute and piccolo player who enjoys studying with Lois Herbine. She has also benefited from many other mentors through the Pocono Flute Camp. Helaine is a member of the Montgomery County , the Fort Washington Flute Choir, and the Laymen Playmen Pit .

A Philadelphia native, Diane Kay-Clark began her formal musical training at the age of nine under the guidance of Ms. Danielle Rousseau. Diane credits her friend and former music teacher for setting her on a “very enriching and rewarding” path. As Diane’s skill progressed, she continued private study under Adeline Tomasone. Diane went on to be awarded the William Kincaid Scholarship, which allowed her to continue her flute studies with the late, great John Krell (piccoloist of the ). Diane entered the famed Eastman School of Music where she studied with the renowned and highly lauded Bonita Boyd earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Performance, Applied Flute. Diane continues to freelance as a soloist and as a member of several ensembles. Such groups included the Promenade Orchestra, the Heidelberg Open-Air Festival Orchestra in West Germany, Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Ocean City Pops Orchestra, Opera North Association, Savoy Opera Company, ConcertOPERA Philadelphia, the Welcome America Orchestra, the Paul Roberts Singers, the Absalom Jones Choir, the Philadelphia Boys Choir, and a host of other ensembles along the east coast.

Beverly Pugh Corry plays piccolo/flute with the Bay Atlantic Symphony. She is a flute instructor at Perkins Institute for the Arts and director for the Cumberland Flute Ensemble. Bev is a founding member of the FSGP and is currently a member of the ensemble Flutes for Peace.

Jocelyn Crosby earned her Master of Music Degree from Temple University in 2015. Former flutist with the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra, she now resides in Lancaster and enjoys freelancing and performing solo concerts in the area, as well as maintaining a flute studio.

The Five Pipers live in the greater Temecula Valley (a community in Southern California). Having played together for many years (in different combinations and settings), they enjoy a special camaraderie and sense of community. They are all flute teachers as well as flute players.

Gia Myers is a project manager and amateur flutist. Gia edits the FSGP monthly newsletter, and studies flute with Lynne Cooksey. Gia dedicates this performance to her parents, Pasquale and Cecilia DiGiminiani.

Arianna Reischer is a senior at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, NJ where she plays in the wind ensemble, jazz ensemble and marching band. She has studied flute with Renae Block and Inna Leoni and has participated in many master classes. Arianna was a member of various South Jersey honors ensembles, frequently winning first chair. In addition, she placed first on both flute and piccolo in the 2019 and 2020 NJ All-State Wind Ensemble and Orchestra auditions. She has received multiple High Honors ratings at the annual NJMTA Spring Recital Auditions, and in March 2020, she took 3rd place in the FSGP’s Youth Artist Competition (Senior High Division). Arianna is currently auditioning at several conservatories that partner with major universities with the plan to dual major in music and engineering.

Judy Simmermon plays flute and piccolo with the Atlantic Pops Community Band. She is also a member of the Cumberland Flute Ensemble, Gloucester County Flute Choir, and Flutes for Peace. Judy is a former military musician with the Marine Band out of Quantico, Virginia.

Janet Somers is second flute with the Bay Atlantic Symphony and a member of Flutes for Peace and the Cumberland Flute Ensemble.

Faith Wasson is a Philadelphia area flutist and teacher. She has orchestral and solo performing experience throughout Europe and North America. Her primary instruction includes a Masters of Music from the Royal Irish Academy of Music under Bill Dowdall of the Irish National Symphony Orchestra and a Bachelors of Music from Temple University under Loren Lind of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
