Dr Henry Maurice Saxby AM was the first National President of the CBCA and was involved in children’s books all his working life. He was an internationally respected teacher, author, critic and authority on children’s books and had a profound influence on the careers of countless Australian authors, illustrators and publishers, many of whom regarded him as a friend. He was also a Life Member of IBBY. So persuasive was his passion for children’s books that and Robert Ingpen won the Award the year that Maurice was a member of the Jury.

Please bring a new children’s book or a bundle of books. The CBCA NSW Branch will print book plates and the books will be donated to school libraries in memory of Maurice Saxby.
