Taxonomic Notes: This species was listed under Hipposideros bicolor, but is now considered distinct following Douangboubpha et al. (2010). Assessment Information
Red List Category & Criteria: Least Concern ver 3.1
Year Published: 2019
Date Assessed: August 5, 2018

Habitat and Ecology (see Appendix for additional information) In Thailand, the species was captured either within limestone caves or in their vicinities or in an area that includes limestone outcrops. The surrounding vegetation varied from seasonal hill evergreen, hill evergreen, moist evergreen, lowland rain evergreen, lowland evergreen, lowland tropical rain, mixed deciduous, mangrove to disturbed forests. It is tolerant of highly disturbed habitat, including cultivations (Douangboubpha et al. 2010).
Systems: Terrestrial
Threats (see Appendix for additional information) This species is threatened by deforestation, generally changing forest plantations (B. Douangboubpha pers. comm.). Conservation Actions This species occurs in a number of protected areas. Credits
