Onlookers even crowded in windows to see the action. evening until early in the morning. The jebta performed for hours at a time stopping only in between songs. Many of the women in the jebta carry fans with them as they sing and dance to help cool them off. The churches were fi lled all day with performers and observers. The Kwaj jebta, made up of Job Corps students, host students, U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll workers and residents also pre- formed. Many Kwaj residents also traveled to Ebeye to witness the event. Women handed out hand-made gifts to people who came to watch.
