The fallout was predictable, and the Winnipeg player showed contrition. “I was wrong to make such a statement and I’d like to apologize,” he told the media. “The vast majority of people in Saskatchewan have no idea how to play the banjo.” Meeting irony with irony, Rider fans brought banjo-like props to the next game in Winnipeg.
