THE STORY

Having acquired the Power Stone from the planet Xandar, Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his Children intercept the Ship carrying the Survivors of Asgard's Destruction. Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (om Hiddleston) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) are Powerless to stop them extracting the Space Stone from the Tesseract. Heimdall (Idris Elba) uses the Bifröst to send Hulk to Earth before being killed. Thanos kills Loki and takes the Space Stone, then departs with his Children and obliterates the Ship.

Hulk crash-lands at the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City, reverting to Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). He warns Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatc) and Wong (Benedict Wong) about Thanos' Plan to kill Half of All Life in the Universe. In response, Strange recruits Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Maw and Obsidian arrive to retrieve the Time Stone from Strange. After a Battle including Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Maw captures Strange ; Stark and Parker pursue Maw's Spaceship, while Banner contacts Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)....

OUR REVIEW

It is a Very Peculiar Movie. It runs for two and a half hours, and its spectacular action, effects, histrionics, and noises fill big screens and cavernous theatres with their colossal churning and yowling.... The Aim, of course, being to give each one of its Dozens of Characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe a Few Moments to shine. It´s a Gigantic Showdown between a Force of Cosmic Wickedness and a Chaotically Assembled Super-Team of Marvel Superheroes. There are Some Very Unexpected Family Relationships. There are Some Very Surprising Deaths. There are Some Surprising Omissions in the Cast List. Heimdall and Loki's Death's come so Swiftly and Unceremoniously that it's Almost Insulting..... Earth is being threatened by a Massive Malign Hunk with a Huge Ridgey Chin called Thanos, played by Josh Brolin. Ranged against him are the Good Guys who come together as a Constellation of Improvised Groupings... Inevitably, there is a Little Confusion but the Film is a Great Entertainment for Fans and Everyone Anyway.
