NEWS AND EVENTS GREAT NEWS COMING UP Famous Astronaut from NASA Jack D Fischer will visit the school on from 5th to 9th of December 2017 as the chief Guest of SAI TED. Chairman’s Cup Debate 2017 – Class XI & XII The Chairman’s Cup Debate Competition for Class XI and XII was conducted on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 on the topic “Demonetization is a boost to Indian Economy”. 26 student debaters showcased excellent debating skills, talking and discussing for and against the motion. Children’s Day Celebration 2017 As the saying goes, ‘there is a child in each one of us’. Children’s Day holds a special place for everyone. The students and teachers of SAI Angan and SAI International School celebrated the occasion and the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with utmost joy and excitement. The teachers took charge of the students’ roles by conducting the Assembly which included the morning prayer and an inspiring thought. Few role plays was conducted by student and teacher groups as a part of the celebrations. The importance and significance of this special day was also explained to the young children. There were a lot of surprises for the children too. Teachers in the role of Chacha Nehru distributed goodies and few other teachers sang and danced with the wonderful children. There were some special performances by the teachers which was highly applauded by the young ones and the students were overwhelmed. It was a day happily spent and children went back with happy memories. SPICMACAY Concert in the School Ustad Nishat Khan on Sitar and Shri Sanjay Adhikari presenting a SPIC MACAY performance in SAI. SAI International school in pursuit of holistic ,360 degree education always aims to make the students aware about the rich cultural heritage of the country they belong to and also to appreciate the different art forms that enhances the values in our youth. SAI as a partner organization of Spic Macay, Odisha Chapter have at all times encouraged to host the illustrious artists who visit Odisha, in the school, be it classical vocal music or Instrumental, dance or folk art and theatre. Our students have enjoyed every bit of it and have participated in the event by not only enjoying the performances but satisfying their curious minds through questions, to learn more. SAI International School has been supporting the Spic Macay in its exclusive mission of spreading Indian culture and tradition among the youth of today, who is unknowingly unaware about the rich cultural back ground of India. SAI International school encourages the students to try and understand and also respect the richness of the invaluable treasure through the several performances of musical exponents in the school. Ustad Nishat Khan, famous Sitarist was hosted by SAI who was accompanied by Shri Sanjay Adhikari and the duo mesmerized the audience with their melodious rendition. Ustad Nishat Khan is one of India’s finest musicians famous globally for his expression and spellbinding technical mastery. He hails from one of the most famous music families in the North Indian classical tradition that extends back for seven generations. He draws on his own musical heritage as well as engages other genres as diverse as Western classical music, jazz, Flamenco and Gregorian chant. He has worked with other major performers and composers such as John McLaughlin, Philip Glass, Paco Peña, Evelyn Glennie. Ustadji is based in Beverly Hills, California, and works as a visiting professor at the University of California, Los Angeles Saioneers committed to volunteer and end corruption To create awareness CVC has envisaged a concept of “Integrity Pledge”. The “Integrity Pledge” to be taken by individual citizens and students affirming their commitment to eradicate corruption and to uphold highest standards of ethical conduct, transparency and good governance. This initiative has been taken up by Nalco. The students of SAI International School also took up this pledge in the campus. World Interact Week World Interact Week honors the accomplishments of an estimated half a million interact club members and recognise the positive impact young people have made through interact for more than 55 years. On this occasion, the interact club of SAI International organised a joint essay writing competition with the interact club oh ho lambda, Brazil in their respective schools. The topic was Global Peace - Need of the hour. Gopabandhu Jyoti in the school As a mark of respect to the ideals and ethics of the great social reformer Pandit Utkalamani Gopabandhu Das, SAI International School was delighted to welcome and honour the Gopabandhu Jyoti on Tuesday, September 8, 2016 in the School premises. To pay homage to the great propagator of education, SAIoneers performed an enthralling dance show. Initiated in the year 2013, the Jyoti Jatra aims to felicitate and honour various categories of people for their immense contribution towards the welfare of society. This year the Women SHGs of Odisha working towards the upliftment of women in the fields like education, health care, prevention of child marriage, employment etc were felicitated.This year also the Gopabandhu Jyoti reached the school and the students and teachers had the opportunity of paying their tribute to the great Mahatma. Mascot for Hockey World League in Odisha launched SAI supported the sports department of Odisha for the launch of the mascot for Hockey World League in Odisha to be held from 1st Dec'17 to 10th Dec'17 SAI Netritva Camp The SAI Netritva camps moved on very smoothly with loads of activities that excited and enthralled the students. Both boys and girls alike enjoyed all the activities planned for them, Besides learning skills they also became more confident and fearless doing the adventure activities. .
