Maximum RPM 6600  Must use Bosch MS 4.3 ECU  Stock, unmodified, LS-3 engine. No internal engine modifications are permitted unless listed.  Must use complete unmodified OEM air intake system. Permitted band clamp attachment.  Maximum rear camber allowance is a total of .3 degrees (Left and right combined). Maximum RPM 7850 Weight: 3025 lbs. with Stock ECU; 3075 lbs with Bosch ECU option  Motor must be sealed by IMSA approved sealing source. Contact IMSA before purchasing a new Porsche 997 3.8L Direct Fuel Injection GTS Engine for required motor sealing procedure. Approved Modifications 1. Allowed 3” diameter Brake Duct opening in radiator inlets. 2. Aftermarket fuel cell in OEM location Permitted replacement components 1. Single lug Carrera GTS hubs not permitted; must convert to 5-lug spec. 2. Porsche supplied OEM rear aero kit wing for 997.1 and 997.2: PN: 997-044-802-00. IMSA Required Motor Sealing Procedure:  Teams are required to order / purchase and seal all engines from an IMSA Approved source.  Existing 3.8L DFI GTS engines can be used only as cores. Additional core acceptability based on Porsche policies.  At first IMSA race event with new engine, IMSA shall verify and record serial number and sealing application.  In the event of required engine repair during an Event, an engine seal broken at the Event under the observance of an IMSA official may be resealed at the track by IMSA providing no alterations of any type were executed beyond the reason for repair.  In the event that an engine’s seal is broken in any manner while not under observance of IMSA, the engine will be considered non-compliant and not eligible for competition.  Engine sealing cost will be $500. Teams will make payment, sealing and shipping arrangements with Approved IMSA sources only contiguous with ordering of the replacement the engine.  Following the completion of payment, the engine will be readied for shipping and team will be responsible for the shipping costs.
