SHOPPER FINISHING THE YEAR STRONG – TOP SEGMENT GAINERS TRENDS Car shopping traffic was up overall in Q4 on Autotrader, with more than half of mainstream car, truck, and SUV segments posting double-digit growth compared to the prior quarter. SNAPSHOT Four luxury segments – the three SUV segments and luxury’s fullsize car segment – experienced the largest percentage growth in traffic among the 17 segments, contributing to a strong finish for luxury overall (+14%). Despite upward momentum for many, rises for some mean declines for others – 30 of more than 200 segment models face an uphill battle to start the year, having dropped a half share point in Q4. 2019-05-02 Elbilar ökade på en minskad totalmarknad i april - Nyregistreringarna av laddbara bilar, dvs elbilar och laddhybrider, ökade med 44 procent i april jämfört med april förra året. Uppgången var särskilt stor för rena elbilar, plus 271 procent. Närmare hälften av de laddbara bilarna i april i år var rena elbilar, jämfört med knappt var femte i april förra året. Totalmarknaden för nya personbilar minskade däremot med 11,6 procent. Det var väntat med en nedgång då vi har den bästa högkonjunkturen bakom oss och i linje med vår prognos för året. April förra året var den bästa aprilmånaden någonsin för nya personbilar med ökad efterfrågan inför det nya skattesystemet som infördes i juli. Den nya testmetoden WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure), som medfört förlängda leveranstider, har en fortsatt negativ påverkan på registreringstakten med långa leveranstider för många modeller, säger Mattias Bergman, vd för BIL Sweden. Ökad andel laddbara bilar – viktigt steg för att nå våra klimatmål - Andelen laddbara bilar av de totala nyregistreringarna var 10,1 procent i april jämfört med 6,2 procent i april förra året. After growing steadily since 2013, the car company reduced deliveries by 25.6% in 2020 and sold 427,000∗ cars (2019: 574,078), after reaching the highest volume in the company’s history in 2019. By country, Germany consolidated its position as the leading market for SEAT S.A., with 109,500 vehicles sold, 17.4% less than in 2019 (132,500), a market share of 4% and 25.6% of the company’s total sales. This was followed by Spain with 73,300 cars, 32.1% less than the previous year (108,000), where the SEAT brand was the leader for the third year running, and the United Kingdom, with 45,600, 33.8% less (68,800). Spain and the United Kingdom were the two main European markets where the automotive sector was most affected by the coronavirus crisis. Despite the pandemic, SEAT S.A. deliveries grew in countries such as Turkey and Israel. In Turkey, SEAT almost doubled its sales to a total of 11,600 cars, up 95.3% (5,900), while in Israel the company broke its sales record for the seventh consecutive year, reaching a total of 10,400 cars sold, up 13% from 2019 (9.200). -

If brands are too close to each other, this might be an indication to increase di#erentiation in the future. This topic is extra relevant for two reasons. Many customers express that models of Audi, VW, Seat and Skoda look too similar. Another reason is that Skoda’s sales and reputation is rising significantly which could lead to canabalism within the group. The overall goal of di#erentiating brands within one group is to grow and take customers away from outside the group. For this reason Skoda, Seat, VW and Audi are compared on di#erent aspects than before shown in figure #fixme.
