BSA Releases Revised Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook

The BSA has improved the Eagle Scout Service Project (ESSP) Workbook and it is now designated as No.2021c – January 2021. The content remains the same as the prior edition, (January 2019) while the format is improved and should not pose as many difficulties that were sometimes experienced. The two primary improvements include attachments that were formerly uploaded, (photos, sketches, diagrams), will now be placed in a stand-alone document of the Eagle Candidate’s choice, and instead of an expandable PDF, adequate space has been allocated for descriptions and explanations. The former January 2019 Workbook can still be used and those who have begun using the former version may continue using that version. However, Scouts, Venturers and Sea Scouts using the new version going forward may find greater ease of use and less issues when emailing. When accessing the ESSP workbook it is highly recommended that the Washington Crossing Council website be used as there is important information for the youth, parents, and unit leaders for the Eagle project process as well as instructions for submitting the Eagle Rank Application. All the forms are direct links to the BSA, thus ensuring that the correct version will be accessed. If an older version of any form downloads, delete the cache on your computer and try again. Should you have any questions, contact the Advancement Chair for your district.
