Today we honor the Most Holy Trinity. In many ways the Church presents this revelation of the one true God as a natural extension of the Paschal Mystery. God has been revealed in the Christian tradition as a Trinity of divine persons: Father, Son and Monday, June 8 Holy Spirit. Our liturgical texts for today are richly textured. Exodus reveals a God 7:30 am who is merciful and gracious. Paul speaks even more specifically that the persons of the Trinity are grace and love and fellowship. John reminds us in the Gospel Lauren Daues that the Father so loved the world for the salvation of humankind. Not at all redun- dant these trademark qualities of the Divine Persons open for us the ever-unfolding Tuesday, June 9 nature of God. God can never be too gracious, too kind, too merciful, too loving, 7:30 am too reconciling to a wayward humanity. The nature of God is everything we are not Helen E. Kappel able to be, and much, much more. Because of this it is the very indwelling of this God within us that dignifies us and sets us apart as unique in all creation. Wednesday, June 10 TAKING OUR LITURGICAL TEMPERATURE AFTER THE FIRST TWO WEEKS 7:30 am Catholics Return To all our liturgical ministers: cantors, musicians, lectors and deacons, well done! to the Faith These first two weeks were much less awkward and chaotic because of your kind- ness and patience. Thank you. We will continue to monitor our situation. Con- stantly throughout the summer things will change, little by little. Please above all Thursday, June 11 things, wear your mask when attending the liturgy as an act of charity toward 7:30 am your fellow parishioners. As we follow the instructions of the Archbishop, we will John Colombo gradually implement any changes permitted by St. Louis County. Thank you for 1923 — 2000 your patience. I will do my best to be diligent in keeping you up to date. Friday, June 12 ARCHDIOCESAN CATHOLIC APPEAL 7:30 am Joseph and At the end of March, just as the closure of public Masses was beginning, the Arch- diocese informed pastors that the Annual Catholic Appeal was to be postponed. Estelle Drapp We were alerted that when the campaign resumed it would take on a slightly differ- ent format for this year. Recently most of you received, in the mail from the Archdi- Saturday, June 13 ocese ,a pledge card for the Appeal. The time frame for the appeal is the last two 4:30 pm weeks of June. This past week I received a first report. Our parish goal this year is Jerry & Sue Iten $52,319. This year there is no challenge goal. Already advanced gifts were re- ceived that credit OLP with pledges of $16,054. Clearly, the need remains con- Family stant for the ministries of the Archdiocese. Also we know that many parishion- ers find themselves left financially compromised due to the pandemic. My Sunday, June 14 personal appeal to you is to consider a gift. Whatever you can reasonably afford. 8:30 am Consider it a true act of generosity and charity. In the next few weeks please re- Dr. Louis Kappel turn your pledge card. It can include a donation or a pledge for future payment in the very same ways the campaign usually collects its donations. Please remember that the ACA is the only means of funding for many of the ministries of the Archdiocese. Thank you for your generosity. 5:30 pm LITANY OF SAINTS THIS MASS IS ON HOLD UNTIL FUTHER As we enter the second week of June (already!), the Church remembers the holi- NOTICE ness of its saints honored in the liturgy this week. Offer your prayers this week through the intercession of Saint Ephraim the Syrian, Saint Barnabas the Apostle, and Saint Anthony of Padua. Saint of God, pray for us! Please stay safe and healthy!
