I wish all the MSME Entrepreneur and readers of this issue a very Happy & Properous New Year! This initiative of publishing Udyami Bangla has also starting its second year with this issue. The first year of this initiative was a great experience. With your support we wish to improve this publication further. We are passing through a difficult times. Global political and economic situation is not very optimistic one. The effect of geo-political turmoils are felt on the Indian shore too. Government of India trying hard to insulate the domestic market from the global economic situation. I hope that things will improve soon and by the second quarter we may see the results coming in. The third-largest economy in Asia should stage a rebound in 2020 as global conditions are set to improve, said Jan Hatzius, chief economist at Goldman Sachs. As per ADB estimates also, the rate of growth and other crucial indicators will improve in 2020-21. With that hope and positivity in mind, I once again wish you all a very HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR! Special Feature 29 3 Udyami Bangla 2nd Year, Vol: II, January 2020 Editorial: Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an initiative of the Government of India, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The scheme provides Benefits to the Employees as under : Every passed & thus certified employee will get a pay-out amounting to INR 500 which will be directly transferred to their given Aadhar Linked bank accounts of the Employees. Job specific kit, including PMKVY T-shirt (For males) /Jacket (For females), PMKVY Cap, etc. Every Certified Employee would get co-branded Recognition Certificate from Govt. of India and Sector Skill Council after successful completion of training. Every passed and thus certified Employee will get a three year accidental insurance up to INR 2 Lakhs under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). It also Benefits to the MSME Industry as under : Improve employee motivation and their interest in workplace activities Promote a culture of continuous learning in the organization Focused training program depending on the need of an employee (Skill Gap), hence saving time which could be effectively utilized towards growth and innovation of the organization. Provide employee recognition National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) was launched in 2016 with an indicative outlay of Rs. 10,000 crore in order to give financial support to establishments undertaking the apprenticeship training. The Apprenticeship is now mandated under the Apprenticeship Act for all sectors of industry including manufacturing and service. The Scheme benefits the MSME sector as : Employer shall engage apprentices in a band of 2.5% to 15% of the total manpower strength of the establishment including contractual staff. Employer would get 25% of the prescribed stipend, subject to a maximum of INR 1,500 per month per apprentice from MSME. Employers who are engaging apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are exempted towards contribution of EPF and ESI for apprentices. As they are trainee not an employee can’t be a part of union. Low attrition as they will have to stay up to the apprenticeship period to obtain certificate. We are now close to our home district focussing Howrah in this issue. Click Here for Details National Conference for Re-Imagining TVET for the changing world: Click Here for Details 6 Udyami Bangla 2nd Year, Vol: II, January 2020 FROM THE DISTRICT DARJEELING Industrial Motivation Campaign Br.Micro Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Siliguri organized one day Industrial MotivationCampaign (C) on 06.11.2019 at Kawakhali, Sushrutanagar, Dist- Darjeeling. The main objective of the programme was to motivate the units for the capacity building so as to face the challenges of globalisation to exist in the themaket through various schemes and guidelines and manage to set-up a Small Scale Enterprise/unit, as various Industry is already established and running successfully in SSI sector. At the outset Smt. Shilpi Das, Secretary, Kawakhali Sangini Dress Designing Cluster Industrial Co-operative Society Limited, Kawakhali, P.O. Sushrutanagar, Dist- Darjeeling addressed the Dias and welcomed the participants. Mrs. Das introduced all the guests / dignitaries with the participants. She told in the present scenario this type of motivation campaign is very much essential and thanked. Br.MSME-DI, Siliguri for organising such valuable programme. After introduction of the Guest/dignitaries, the guest were honoured with Flower Bouquets. Shri T. K. Banerjee, Assistant Director, Br. MSME-DI, Siliguri also welcomed Mr. Saroj Kumar Chhetri, LDM, Central Bank of India, Dist-Darjeeling, Mr. Soumya Sarkar, Ex. Senior Project Manager and Expert Fuest Faculty, Mr. Satiprasad Adhikary, a senior and successful entrepreneur, Mr. Goutam Dey Sarkar, Faculty, CENT-RSETI, Darjeeling/Siliguri. Shri Banerjee, Assistant Director briefed participants about the roles and functions of MSME-DI and also made the participants aware about the various promotional schemes of DC(MSME) and Ministry of MSME and its guidelines. Mr. Saroj Kumar Chhetri, LDM, CBI, Darjeeling elaborately discussed the Role of Banks for the promotion and development of MSME sector and also made to understand the procedure in availing bank finance. Mr.Soumya Sarkar, Ex. Senior Project Manager and Expert Fuest Faculty described Project Report Preparartion, types of Bank loans, PMEGP and other loan schemes. Mr. Satiprasad Adhikary, a senior and successful entrepreneur described the hurdles and also the benefits of becoming an entrepreneur. He shared his positive approach and requested participants to reap the benefits out of the schemes of stat and Central govtfor MSME sector. Mr. Goutam Dey Sarkar, Faculty, CENT-RSETI, Darjeeling/Siliguri explained the different steps involved in setting up an enterprise. He explained about different programmes undertaken by the Institute to promote entrepreneurs. He told the participants about the various opportunities of self employment that can be taken up. He spoke about the various industries that can take place in this region and the Ideas rule the world- and new and productive ideas which can bring some change in the society as well as themselves should always encouraged. He also informed that MSME which is a potential training provider can help them in providing training of all kinds, and also help the small industries to market their products.He also gave an excellent motivational talk to the participants and also said that in the present scenario this type of motivation campaign is very much essential. New generation should think about self employment. He urged the participants to attend such programmes and encouraged them to approach the bank by themselves and take the benefits.
