Busk Hill Gunnar VII Mrs Anne Furness 21:9:20 - 12:12:12 It is with great sadness we report the death of Mrs Anne Furness in December last year. Anne made a huge contribution to equestrian life in Yorkshire, be it as an accomplished horsewoman, highly respected breeder or as a valued judge of horses and ponies. A lady hard to follow across hunting country, she was equally impressive showing her magnificent hunters or sharing her extensive knowledge of breeding both horses and ponies. Over the years some wonderful ponies were bred at Kirby Knowle and in her later life, Anne kept her interest in competitive sport going with an eventing horse or two, brought on by Nicola Wilson. It will be difficult to imagine the forthcoming show season in Yorkshire without Anne's presence and encouragement to all she met. Usually accompanied by a black Labrador or two, she had a word for everyone. She was always so willing to share her knowledge and experience.
