Paragliding World Cup Association selected Himachal Pradesh as a venue to host the 2015 para-gliding World Cup. This will be the first para-gliding World Cup to be hosted in India. Real Madrid football club clinched the UEFA Football Super Cup. Indian cricket team equaled the world record of maximum number of 6 ducks in a Test innings. Apart from India other teams are Pakistan, South Africa and Bangladesh. Former India cricket captain Kapil Dev will head the Arjuna Awards selection committee for choosing this year's outstanding sportspersons of the country. Three-time Olympian and former Hockey Captain Ajitpal Singh was selected as the Chairman of the Dronacharya Award Selection Committee. Indian Women's Recurve team won gold medal at the Archery World Cup Stage IV in Wroclaw, Poland. Serena Williams won her first ever Cincinnati Open by defeating Ana Ivanovic. Roger Federer won Cincinnati title for Sixth time. BCCI appointed Ravi Shastri as the Director of Indian Cricket Team. President of Athletics Federation of India (AFI) Adille Sumariwala was appointed as Chef-de-Mission for Incheon Asian Games 2014. Max Verstappen of Netherlands will become youngest Formula One driver in the formula one race history. Wrestling academy Guru Hanuman Akhara was chosen for the Rashtritya Khel Protsahan Puraskar of 2014. Red Bull team Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo won Belgian Grand Prix. Justice Dr Manjula Chellur was sworn in as the first woman Chief jJustice of Calcutta High Court. The construction work of the world's tallest railway bridge began on 28th July 2014 near Noney in Manipur, India. Northeast Frontier Railway Construction Organisation (NFRCO) will be administering the whole project. The veteran politician and a member of the country's first Lok Sabha from undivided Madhya Pradesh, Reshamlal Jangade passed away. Daroji Eramma, one of the last exponents of Burra katha passed away. Human skull with carnelian beads embedded copper crown was discovered in Chandayan village of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh. LAF is used to aid banks in adjusting the day to day mismatches in liquidity. LAF consists of repo and reverse repo operations. 3. Repo Rate: Whenever the banks have any shortage of funds they can borrow it form RBI. Repo rate is the rate at which commercial banks borrows rupees from RBI.
