It is hereby circulated for information that Delhi High Court shall observe Monday, the 14th August 2017, as holiday on account of Janamashtami. In lieu of Monday, the 14th August 2017, Second Saturday falling on 09th September, 2017 has been declared as Court Working Day for Delhi High Court. The cases fixed for Monday, the 14th August 2017 shall be taken up on Wednesday, 16th August 2017 in addition to the cases already fixed for that day. Matters listed for 14 th August 2017 shall be taken up First and after completion of the board for 14th August 2017, the matters listed for 16th August 2017 shall be taken up. CIRCULAR On the occasion of the Independence Day, a Flag-hoisting ceremony will be held in the High Court premises. The National Flag will be unfurled by Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice in the High Court Lawns on Tuesday, the 15th August, 2017 at 10.00 AM. The Programme shall be as follows: 9:50 A.M. Invitees and staff to assemble near the flag-post in the front lawn. 10:00 A.M. Flag-hoisting by Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice . Flag-hoisting ceremony will be followed by tea on the ground floor lobby of the main building. NOTICE It is circulated for information of all concerned that on 15th August, 2017, on account of Independence day, all the Lawyers Chamber Blocks, will remain open from 2.00 P.M. To 9.00 P.M. only and the Registry will not be in a position to provide conservancy services on that day. N O T I C E It is hereby informed that in an endeavour to smoothen the process of filing of cases in Delhi High Court, Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice, on the recommendation of Hon'ble Information Technology Committee, has been pleased to direct that henceforth the lawyers and litigants-in-person shall also be provided with the details of defects of their filed cases via-e-mail in addition to the SMS alert already being received about the defects. In order to avail of this facility, the lawyers and litigants-in-person(except the lawyers/litigants already registered with the e-Filing software of Delhi High Court) are required to register themselves with the e-Filing software at e-Filling Center-I, Room No.4, Ground Floor, Lawyers' Chambers Block-I, Delhi High Court. At the time of registration, they will be required to enter valid e-mail ID & mobile number into their profiles, besides other information. The lawyers and litigants-in-person, having e-Filing login ID, will have to provide their mobile number(linked with e-Filing software) to the concerned dealing assistant at Filing Counter at the time of filing of cases to get the details of defects(if any, raised by the Registry) via e-mail in addition to the SMS alerts. For registration purposes, the lawyers are required to submit self-attested photo-copy of the registration/enrolment certificate issued by the concerned Bar Council and the litigants-in-person are required to submit self-attested photo-copy of proof of identity & proof of address. Repo Rate: Whenever the banks have any shortage of funds they can borrow it form RBI. Repo rate is the rate at which commercial banks borrows rupees from RBI.

    Awards and Honors Priyanka Chopra conferred Mother Teresa Memorial award for social justice Indian actor, Priyanka Chopra has been bestowed with the 2017 Mother Teresa Memorial Award for her contribution towards lending her support to social causes such as her recent visit to Syria where she met and interacted with refugee children. The 35-year-old is also UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassador and is known for supporting various philanthropic activities. The award was received by her mother Madhu Chopra, on her behalf. The award has been conferred to several famous personalities in the past such as Malala Yousafzai, Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Oscar Fernandes, Sudha Murty, Sushmita Sen and Bilquis Bano Edhi. Hindi writer Mamta Kalia selected for Vyas Samman 2017 Renowned Hindi writer Mamta Kalia was on 8 December 2017 selected for the Vyas Samman 2017 for her novel "Dukkham Sukkham" published in 2009.
