Raízen Argentina Buys Pampa Energía Assets for $20m

Pampa Energía, with surface area of 30 hectares, includes facilities consisting of 43 tanks with a nominal capacity of 228,000 m3 of product (crude oil, diesel, naphthas, biofuels, bases for lubricants and additives), and 8 storage sheds, besides, 4 truck loading islands with a daily dispatch capacity of 4,000 m3. "It is a satisfaction for us to have been able to complete the first acquisition of assets of Raízen Argentina in the country, post-purchase of the downstream business to Shell. These assets are strategic, as they will optimize the logistics of light crude oil for processing, the receipt of imports of various products from our portfolio, and develop, in turn, potential new business opportunities," said Teofilo Lacroze, president of Raizen in Argentina. A two-thirds voter approval was given by the shareholders of the two companies in order to bring Shell into the wing of Idemitsu as its subsidiary, and the unification of the company took effect on April 1. Welcome to one of the most exciting and fast PW ASIA changing markets in South East Asia. The Philippines was the first fuels market in the region to deregulate back in 1998, also the year that PetrolWorld first held its first event in Asia, the ASPEC ‘one to one’ business FUEL RETAIL meeting Forum. Back in 1998, Petron participated in our first Forum held in Penang and I am delighted to say that the Petron executive who CONFERENCE represented his company then, is participating as delegate to our Conference with Petron team. Also I want to “Welcome” you all to Global City here in Manila. 2019 I am genuinely excited to be holding our Conference in this newly developed area of Manila, which is also close to the Philippines Dept. of Energy. Officials there, tell me that their Message from the six-story building had a good view and was one of the tallest buildings in this area. … some change. Founder & President There is an inevitable focus of this Conference on the Philippines market and may I say, long overdue. However there is a large international presence by way of delegates and we have ensured that the presentations have a good balance between the local and international markets. I want to say a special thank you to the “Support Sponsors” who are crucial to the success of the event. This includes local oil companies; as well as local & international supplier companies. Thank you. This is the third PW Conference that is part of a new 5-year strategy. This new international platform for fuel retail, handling and distribution in Asia, is being developed to be the most important networking and international gathering of executives in our industry in Asia. Finally, I want to point out that there is a small supplement to this catalogue that has the most up to date schedule and list of attendees. Enjoy the networking! David Egan

Although a straightforward debt fund‑ raising would be the most obvious avenue for the business to pursue, market sources say Fallon & Byrne is also exploring raising equity from some of Goodbody’s wealthy private clients. It is also believed that key Irish supermarket chains Dunnes Stores and convenience retailer owner Musgrave, harbour an interest in taking a stake in the business, or even buying it in its entirety.

Fallon & Byrne, which was originally opened in the mould of a New York- style epicurean market hall, was founded at the tail-end of the last economic boom by local investors.
