AP US History Summer Reading List Welcome to your first college level American History class. I have prepared a list of books for you this summer. I do not expect you to read all of these books (although one day you will). I expect you to select at least 3-4 of these books and have them read during this summer. Some of these are required reading though, among them you need to read Battle Cry before we begin the Civil War unit around Thanksgiving (it is a long book so you’ll need to start soon). The Affluent Society before Spring Break and All the President’s Men by April 15th. The books are organized roughly by topic unit but this is not set in stone. You may be interested in reading some other books than the ones on the list and that is okay just email me and let me know so I can let you know if it will be discussed during the year. There will be no quizzes or tests on the day school starts or any of that stuff.
