EDMONTON (July 16, 2019) – Super Channel is pleased to announce that the espionage drama Deep State, returns to Super Channel for the exclusive Canadian premiere of a second enthralling season on Sunday, August 25 at 9 p.m. ET. Each hour-long episode of the eight-episode season will also be available to subscribers on Super Channel On Demand the day following its weekly linear broadcast. Viewers can also catch up on all of season one, currently available on Demand. Joining the cast this season is Emmy® nominee, Walton Goggins. Known for his versatile and critically acclaimed performances in Justified, Vice Principals and The Hateful Eight, Goggins stars as Nathan Miller, an ex-CIA operative brought in as a fixer for the deep state. The second season delves deeper into the murky and political world of the deep state. Having failed in the Middle East, those powers are now turning their attention to sub- Saharan Africa and the scramble to plunder its natural resources. This is the first dirty war over clean energy. The series also explores the origin stories of some of our favourite characters from season one, alongside witnessing the fall of a hero and orchestrating the making of a terrorist in the eyes of the West. Returning cast members include: Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones, Skins), Karima McAdams (Fearless, Vikings), Alistair Petrie (Sex Education, The Night Manager) and Anastasia Griffith (Damages, Once Upon a Time). Rounding out the ensemble are new cast members, Victoria Hamilton (The Crown, Doctor Foster), Alexander Siddig (The Spy, Gotham) Lily Banda (The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) and Zainab Jah (Elementary, Homeland). Matthew Parkhill (Rogue) is executive producer, co-creator, writer, director and showrunner with Emmy-award winning powerhouse producer Hilary Bevan Jones (Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot, State of Play, The Escape Artist) as executive producer. Director Joss Agnew (Poldark, Mr Selfridge) and BAFTA Award winning producer Paul Frift (Victoria, Room at the Top), both joined the team for the second season. Simon Maxwell (American Odyssey) is co-creator, writer and executive producer. Rounding out the executive producing team are Walton Goggins, Alan Greenspan, and Helen Flint with Sara Johnson for Fox Networks Group, Europe & Africa.     Game of Thrones Transmedia Storytelling Analysis Ott Vatter BFM Introduction Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled A Game of Thrones. The unique transmedia experience was produced by New York based creative marketing agency Campfire. This paper is a transmedia analysis of the project Game of Thrones, written by Ott Vatter for the course Transmedia Storytelling, taught by Dr. Renira Gambarato. The course is part of the Baltic Film School’s Crossmedia Production Master program. The paper follows the methodology suggested by Dr. Renira Gambarato in the text “How to Analyze Transmedia Narratives” and the main goal of the analysis is to understand in which way transmedia storytelling strategies were implemented in the project, evaluating its strengths, weaknesses and trying to suggest possible improvements. As the TV series Game of Thrones has been accomplished with major success, it would take far more than 15 pages to analyze every related extension, so I with this essay I am going to discuss what I consider most relevant. I will try to do it as objectively as possible. Premise and purpose The purpose of the transmedia project is to promote the adaption of the fantasy novel "A Song of Ice and Fire" written by George R.     ‘Doing it for the kids’? The Discursive Construction of the Teenager and Teenage Sexuality in Skins Susan Berridge Abstract: The teen series is often regarded by television scholars as an inherently American genre. Indeed, the genre is marked by US constructs, such as the cheerleader, jock, homecoming dance and prom and, in turn, teen television scholarship has focused almost exclusively on US texts. However, more recent years have seen the emergence of British teen drama series, most notably Skins (E4, 2007–), which has been so successful that it has spawned an (albeit short- lived) US version which aired on MTV. In an attempt to redress the dearth of academic study of British teen dramas, this article explores Skins in more detail. Journalistic discourse on the programme has frequently emphasised the series’ nihilism in contrast to the didacticism that characterises its US generic counterparts, which the series’ creators justify by claims for its authenticity. This article moves beyond the authentic/inauthentic debate to explore instead the discursive construction of the teenager and teenage sexuality in the specific context of broadcasting in the UK. Thus, after situating Skins in relation to the history of youth programming in Britain and, specifically, on Channel 4, the article will explore issue-led storylines involving teenage sexuality in more detail. It will argue that despite the programme’s nihilistic ethos, Skins is underpinned by more conservative ideologies, particularly regarding the depiction of gender and sexuality.
