Olivia and Harlan Fischer Arts Scholarship For the 15th year in a row, Head of the Harbor residents Olivia and Harlan Fischer have presented their Arts scholarships to two deserving Smithtown High School graduates. This year’s winners, who each received $2,000 scholarships at the annual senior awards ceremony on Thursday evening June 7, 2012, were Jenna Pis - noy from Smithtown High School West, and Anna Miceli of Smithtown High School East. Jenna hopes to become a famous graphic designer. She has already achieved some fame for her signs saying “Earth without ‘art’ is just ‘eh’!” Anna intends to major in music so she can be an audio mixer and combine musical elements with film. When we asked why he started this scholarship program, Harlan replied “many years ago, Donna Harlow would bring the Smithtown High School Chamber Orchestra to perform a holiday show for our rotary Club each December. Watching the students warm up and then perform, I just felt that the whole group seemed like a bunch of good kids that deserved support, especially since the arts are usually the first programs cut during any school Harlan Fischer is pictured with this year’s scholarship continued on page 12 winners Jenna Pisnoy (l) and Anna Miceli (r).

These patriots overcame personal pride The present Congress however, Because they knew that they should; Seems to have an opposite view In order to form a unified government They spend all their time opposing each other That would function for the common good. Our democracy has endured for a very long time I recommend that these present Congressmen Through many trials and wars (Even though this is an Election year!)
