Travel in Portugal with Colline d’Italia September 5-12, 2022 The oldest state on the Iberian Peninsula, and one of the oldest in Europe, Portugal has fascinating towns, sweeping views, spectacular coastlines, ancient history, castles, fantastic food and wonderful wines, a perfect place for our tours Highlights: Day 1, Monday, September 5: 3:00 pick up in Porto, and off to the Minho, green and beautiful Northern Portugal, and our home for the next week: Quinta da Bouça d'Arques, https://www.boucadarques.com/ Day 2, Tuesday, September 6: the winery of Quinta de Paços, where local wines have been made for 500 years Day 3, Wednesday, September 7: the jewel of the Costa Verde in the Minho: the town of Viano do Castelo, and the Mira- douro de Santa Luzia, one of the greatest views in the world Day 4, Thursday, September 8: the region of Bairrada, in Beira, for a visit to an architectural masterpiece, the winery of Quinta do Encontro Day 5, Friday, September 9: Guimarães, the birthplace of King Afonzo Henriques, the first ruler of the independent coun- try and the “cradle” of Portugal, where it was born in 1143 Day 6, Saturday, September 10: the Douro river, and the specialty that the country is known for: Port. We’ll visit 2 Port houses to taste the nectar, and get to know the other wines of the region Day 7, Sunday, September 11: Ponte de Lima, one of the oldest towns in Portugal, city of gardens from ancient Roman times, and a baroque wine estate Day 8, Monday, September 12: Departure day All meals, with wine, accommodations and attractions are included, as is transportation during the trip, from pick-up to drop-off on departure day. Airfare is not included. This tour is limited to 16 people. This itinerary is tentative, and subject to change, but you will be very happy $3850 per person A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is requested to confirm your place. First come, first served. All day trips and attractions included in the itinerary Transportation according to the itinerary* The Tour Does Not Include: Flights Travel insurance Personal expense TERMS & CONDITIONS A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 per person is required at time of booking to guarantee space on the tour. The balance of the first half payment is due September 1, 2021. If the booking is made after September1, 2021, the first half payment is due upon booking. Balance of the full amount is due March 1, 2022. Please inquire about payment plans. CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT You may cancel your tour prior to the time that the balance of the first half payment is due. After that time, all payments received are non -refundable. If you have paid for at least half of the tour, credit for that amount will be issued towards a future tour, with possible adjust- ments due to exchange rates, rises in accommodation prices, etc. In case of postponement by our company, complete credit will be issued towards the same tour in the following year with no adjustments. TRAVEL INSURANCE It is highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance to protect your travel investment. This must be bought soon after you sign up for any tour, usually within10 days or up to three weeks. Most airlines offer some travel insurance when you book a ticket. Note that most travel products are non-refundable. Travel protection normally provides coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Medical and Dental, Emergency Assistance and Transportation, Baggage loss, damage or delay, Travel Delay and possibly more. Be sure to get a policy that includes coverage for COVID19-related issues, which is now available. There are also policies that cover ‘Cancel for No Reason’, more costly. If you have a pre-existing condition, be sure to inquire about that with the travel insurance company before you purchase any policy.
