The Freddie Dixon Blues Band consists of a group of South Side greats anchored by Doktu Rhute Muuzic, Maurice John Vaughan and of course the inimitable Freddie Dixon! What they have in common is that they are all steeped in the traditions of the music as well as creators of their own powerful songs. They are carrying on the work of blues pioneers like, , Otis Clay, A.C. Reed and more. has a rotating cast of members and can play at events ranging from small acoustic performances to large outdoor stadiums. Willie Dixon’s songs have been recorded by , , and among many others. Freddie has toured and recorded extensively with his father. More recently as a Chicago Blues Ambassador he has played shows in Paris, Toronto and toured in Australia as well as many appearances in all of the Chicago Blues venues. Doktu moved to Chicago in the 1960’s. The rest is history as the Rhute Doctor formed his owned bands and played live all over the world. He has also appeared extensively on stage and screen in addition to his music career. Also a member of the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame.
