(HYMENOPTERA, TENTHREDINIDAE) – A NEW PEST SPECIES OF ASH TREE IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA MOCREAC Nadejda Abstract. In the Republic of Moldova, the ash tree is a common forest species, used in the reforestation and afforestation of woods and territories, and widely used as an ornamental tree in cities and along roads. For more than ten years, our ash tree woods have been severely defoliated by the ash weevil Stereonychusfraxini (De Geer, 1775) from Curculionidae family. In the vegetation period of 2018 and 2019, defoliation was seen on ash trees, caused by unknown sawfly larvae species from the Tenthredinidae family. The analyses showed that these pests belong to the Hymenoptera order – the privet sawfly – Macrophya punctumalbum (Linnaeus, 1767), and Tomostethus nigritus (Fabricius, 1804), the last one being a new species for the fauna of the Republic of Moldova. The biggest ash defoliations caused by the Tomostethus nigritus larvae were recorded in the centre of the country, especially in the Nisporeni and Tighina Forest Enterprises and in the “Plaiul Fagului” Scientific Reserve, as well as in the urban space. (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae) – specie nouă de dăunător al frasinului în Republica Moldova. În Republica Moldova, frasinul este o specie obișnuită, folosită nu numai în reîmpădurire și împădurire dar utilizat pe scară largă ca arbore ornamental în parcurile din orașe și de-a lungul drumurilor. Mai bine de zece ani, pădurile de frasin sunt defoliate anual de către trombarul frunzelor de frasin Stereonychus fraxini (De Geer, 1775) din familia Curculionidae. -

The females have reduced wings and cannot fly. However, a study of material from the known ränge of the species has shown that "Sphaleroptera alpi- colana" is really a complex of several taxa. S. alpicolana s.str. oecurs in the central part of the Alps, in Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany. A new subspecies, S. a. buseri ssp.n. is described from the Valais (Switzerland). Four new species are described, based on distinet differences in the male and female genitalia: S. occiclentana sp.n., S. adamel- loi sp.n.. S. dentana sp.n. and .S'. orientana sp.n., with the subspecies S. o. suborientana. Distribution maps are giv- en for all taxa and where known, the early stages and life histories are described. The role of the Pleistocene glacia- tions in the speciation process is discussed. PLANT1*, STOYAN BESHKOV2, PREDRAG JAKŠIĆ3, ANA NAHIRNIĆ2 114 West Road, Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, CM23 3QP, England 2National Museum of Natural History, Sofia, Bulgaria 3Faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics, University of Priština, Kosovska Mitrovica, Serbia ABSTRACT Pyraloidea (Lepidoptera: Crambidae & Pyralidae) were sampled in the territories of southern Serbia, Montenegro, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania on a total of 53 occasions during 2014, 2016 and 2017. A total of 173 species is reported here, comprising 97 Crambidae and 76 Pyralidae. Based upon published data, 29 species appear to be new to the fauna of Serbia, 5 species are new to the fauna of Macedonia and 37 are new to the fauna of Albania. The data are discussed. Abstract Additions, deletions and corrections are made to the Irish checklist of butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera). Elachista biatomella (Stainton, 1848) is added to the Irish list. The total number of confirmed Irish species of Lepidoptera now stands at 1480. Key words: Lepidoptera, additions, deletions, corrections, Irish list, Elachista biatomella Introduction Bond, Nash and O’Connor (2006) provided a checklist of the Irish Lepidoptera. Since its publication, many new discoveries have been made and are reported here. In addition, several deletions have been made. A concise and updated checklist is provided. The following abbreviations are used in the text: BM(NH) – The Natural History Museum, London; NMINH – National Museum of Ireland, Natural History, Dublin. The total number of confirmed Irish species now stands at 1480, an addition of 68 since Bond et al. (2006). Taxonomic arrangement As a result of recent systematic research, it has been necessary to replace the arrangement familiar to British and Irish Lepidopterists by the Fauna Europaea [FE] system used by Karsholt 60 Bulletin of the Irish Biogeographical Society No. 36 (2012) and Razowski, which is widely used in continental Europe. -

Kleinschmetterlinge, die im „Verzeichnis der Schmetterlinge Deutschlands“ von GAEDIKE & HEINICKE (Hrsg.) 1999 nicht für Schleswig-Holstein erwähnt werden, obwohl sie in den Aufsammlungen von EVERS , MEDER , RILL und TIEDEMANN vorhanden sind, ergänzt durch einige Neufunde der genannten Arten. Nach unserer Kenntnis wurde die von MEDER gesammelte, aber nicht erkannte, Nepticulide Ectoedemia albibimaculella (LARSEN , 1927) bisher in Deutschland nicht nachgewiesen. Einige faunistisch interessante Arten werden farbig abgebildet. Summary This paper presents a list of “microlepidoptera” new for Schleswig-Holstein (northern Germany) and in one case ( Ectoedemia albibimaculella (Larsen, 1927)) new for Germany, referring to a compilation by GAEDIKE & HEINICKE (Eds.) 1999. The species mentioned were not caught in the field but detected in museum-material of earlier collectors in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. Großschmetterlinge im nördlichsten Bundesland sind wir, trotz einer überschaubaren Zahl heute aktiver Entomologen, noch vergleichsweise gut unterrichtet. Die derzeitigen Datenauswertungen und Kartierungen im Zusammenhang mit der Erstellung eines Verbeitungsatlanten der Tagfalter des Gebietes sowie die vorliegende Rote Liste (KOLLIGS , 1998) belegen dies; gerade letztere zeigt aber auch, dass wir bezüglich der aktuellen Verbreitung vieler Arten leider nur unklare Vorstellungen haben und jedenfalls weit entfernt sind von einer räumlich hoch aufgelösten status quo-Aufnahme, die z.B. als Interpretationsgrundlage für künftige Populationsschwankungen dienen könnte, wie dies z.B.
