Travel to and within Stockholm All four of Stockholm’s airports are connected to downtown by airport coaches as well as municipal alternatives. Stockholm Arlanda Airport (largest airport) Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is located 40 kilometres (25 miles) north of Stockholm City. Commuter trains operated by the public transport company in Stockholm, SL is the cheapest and suggested alternative cause you can buy a ticket for your whole stay (see below). The trains depart twice an hour from Arlanda Central Station in Sky City. Total travel time between the airport and Stockholm City Station is 43 minutes. Between terminals 4 and 5 there is an area called Sky City. All information signs from terminals with commuter train symbol will get you to Sky City. You buy the ticket to the commuter train at the information desk (swedavia) or Pressbyrån. You can buy single tickets or a travelcard for a whole time in Stockholm, including the ferry transports for the hostel. With a travelcard (recommended), you can travel as much as you like with SL for the whole stay. Travelcards are besides busses, commuter trains and subway, valid on the tram (Tram 7) going to Skansen and the island of Djurgården and also the ferries between Slussen and Djurgården. 7-day travelcard: SEK 325 + SEK 20.
