    A first exploratory analysis of the regional economic impact of COVID-19 1 in Argentina Andrés Niembro 2 and Carla Daniela Calá 3 Preliminary version (August, 2020) Abstract In this article, we present a first exploratory analysis of the regional economic impact that COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown measures adopted in Argentina could have had during the last weeks of March and the month of April, the period of greatest economic impact, when restrictions were mainly raised at the sectoral level, without taking into account any regional criteria. To this end, we built an index of territorial economic impact by COVID-19 (ITEI-COVID), which takes into account, on the one hand, the regional production structure in terms of formal private employment, and on the other hand, the operational level of each sector. Results show that the regional impact of COVID-19 on private economic activity in Argentina was highly heterogeneous and that these unequal effects were largely related to the degree of productive diversity or the type of regional specialization. Introducción Las proyecciones para niveles territoriales menores a Provincia utilizan modelos semidemográficos debido a la complejidad de los métodos puramente demográficos y falta de información minuciosa necesaria para la estimación de la evolución futura de las variables demográficas. Existen distintos métodos matemáticos o semidemográficos para desagregar la población proyectada de un área jerárquicamente mayor a niveles menores. La elección del método adecuado requiere un análisis de las características sociales y demográficas de las áreas en cuestión. Dadas las características demográficas de la Provincia de Buenos Aires el método adecuado es el Método de los Incrementos Relativos. El método elegido utiliza proyecciones ya realizadas de un área jerárquicamente mayor, en este caso las proyecciones de población de la provincia de Buenos Aires por sexo y se desagrega a las áreas menores. Las proyecciones provinciales se elaboraron mediante el método de componentes demográficos (ver Proyecciones de población de la provincia de Buenos Aires 2010- 2040.) por sexo y grupos de edad 2010-2040) 2.

It deals with a case study of Trenque Lauquen City (located in the northwest of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina**); it attempts to understand processes of territorial transformation experienced since the city was founded, in 1876. The “round lake”, which gives its name to the city in the language of the Mapuche Indians, is surrounded by urbanization, and located within the sub-humid Pampa. According to the last census of population and housing, it hosted 30,764 of the 13,827,203 inhabitants of the province’s territory in 2001. It concentrates the main regional economic activities: agriculture, dairy farming and cattle raising. Secondary and tertiary activities also take place there: manufacturing industry, services and commerce. Our research activities are aimed to studying the territorial organization and the places developed through the history of Trenque Lauquen.

En el final de esta “línea prehistórica de tiempo” se muestra, dibujado en la misma escala, el período cubierto por la “línea histórica de tiempo” que sigue a continuación. 3. Texto: Fauna Prehistórica Después de la desaparición de los dinosaurios hace 65 millones de años, comienza la Era Cenozoica o Era de los Mamíferos. El hallazgo de restos de estos grandes mamíferos en excavaciones realizadas en la ciudad de Buenos Aires nos permite concluir que también habitaron nuestro territorio hace unos 2.000.000 a 10.000 años. Las rutas utilizadas y la antigüedad de la llegada de los primeros pobladores al continente americano, ha sido muy discutida. Diversas teorías proponen fechas tan disímiles como 12.000 o hasta 60.000 años. Sabemos entonces que los primeros habitantes de estas tierras convivieron con los grandes mamíferos al menos unos 2.000 años, hasta su extinción, hace 10.000. Entre 10.000 y 7.000 años atrás estas tierras estuvieron cubiertas por las aguas durante el último período de desglaciación.

    UNIDAD Y DIFERENCIAS PARA UN DESARROLLO TURISTICO – RECREACIONAL DE INTEGRACIÓN: Caso Tandil – Azul – Olavarría. Argentina. Ricardo Dosso Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata. [email protected] Introducción La consideración de las zonas turísticas de la provincia de Buenos Aires y las políticas de acción en el sector signaron su interés primordial en zonas cuya condición geomofológica le atribuía condiciones de fortaleza geográfica para la contemplación o para la práctica del turismo en espacios de fuertes accidente geográficos. Así el litoral costero, las sierras de Tandil y de la Ventana, constituyeron los principales atractivos cuya consagración acompañaron recíprocamente el desarrollo y la consideración preferencial de esas regiones. La pampa en su condición de llanura relativamente desforestada, aunque productivamente atractiva no fue motivo de inclusión concreta, y menos aún en sus áreas deprimidas. No obstante éste desarrollo periférico de la provincia en términos de integración turismo y desarrollo y la inclusión del fuerte perfil dorsal serrano, el centro de la provincia constituyó en momentos de esplendor potencial nodo regional metropolitano tripolar (Sassone, S.-1981) incluyente de los centros urbanos de Tandil, Azul y Olavarría, en general en relación a la producción primaria, secundaria, e incluso terciaria en su vocación de polo de servicios de alcance central y extenso regional. Este desarrollo regional nodal consolidó una región de carácter regional metropolitana. Región definida más por la intensidad de su fuerte interdependencia socio-económica y socio-cultural e irradiación influencial que por la homogeneidad del perfil geográfico. De las tres modalidades de emplazamiento dadas en la provincia: litorales fluvial/maítimas, internas de pampa ondulada, internas interfase sierras llanuras y llanura, el trío polar se destaca en éste último singularizado por sus condiciones de magnitud poblacional y extensividad de su área de influencia o irradiación regional central.
