2017-18 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS • Opened the year with an impressive win at the Cornell Invitation- al, marking the seventh tournament title under head coach Brian Quinn in his 11-year tenure. • The Cornell win came against a field of 16 teams, which is the largest field for an Owl title since at least the 2000-01 campaign. • Temple would post two more Top 10 finishes in the fall season, placing seventh at the Georgetown Invitational and second at the City 6 Championship. • The spring season saw the Owls record three Top 10 finishes: 3rd at Cornell Spring Invitational, 6th at Princeton Invitational and 8th at The American Championship. • Senior Mark Farley, who was earned a spot on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team, had a team-best 73.8 stroke aver- age. He, however, only played six rounds on the year. • Junior Trey Wren (75.1) and redshirt junior John Barone (75.7) were the only two Owls to compete in all 28 rounds. • Barone led Temple with seven rounds of par or below par. • Freshman Dawson Anders had five rounds of par or below, including a season-low round by an Owl, 65 at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. He also shot a 68 at the Cornell Invitational to tie for seventh. • Junior Sam Soeth, who shot a 68 at the Firestone Invitational to lead Temple and tie for fourth over- all, was the only other Owl to shoot in the 60s besides Anders. • Temple golfers cracked the Top 10 at tournaments nine times on the season led by Barone, who had two second place finishes (Cornell Invitational, City 6 Championship). • Temple coach Brian Quinn purchased the Owls home course, the Plymouth Golf Club and rebrand- ed it the 1912 Club.
