MALDON DISTRICT LOCAL HIGHWAY PANEL Approved Works Programme - 2017/18 MALDON DISTRICT LOCAL HIGHWAY PANEL Approved Works Programme - 2017/18 At the September 2017 meeting of the Maldon District Local Highways Panel (LHP) the Panel made some scheme prioritisation recommendations suggestions from both Approved Works Programme – Rolling Programme. It is envisaged that the 2018/19 Capital Budget for the Maldon District LHP will be the same as that in 2017/18, though this will be finalised by ECC at their full Council meeting in February 2018. The Panel are now asked to finalise their scheme funding recommendations for the schemes they wish to see delivered in 2018/19 from their previous Rolling Programme prioritisations and the schemes on the Potential Schemes List. Members are reminded that the costs supplied are estimates only and there is the possibility that a final scheme cost could change significantly dependant on issues which may arise especially during detailed design and construction. The estimated scheme costs on the Rolling Programme/Potential Scheme List have been reviewed and adjusted as necessary to reflect this. At this stage we have not been notified of the Safer Roads schemes that will need to be progressed within the District in 2018/19. Our Safer Roads team are currently preparing their 2018/19 programme with a view to finalising it by the end of January 2018.     Maldon District Council – E Petition – Increase in charges for mooring barges and parking cars on Hythe Quay The Thames Sailing Barge Trust and other barge Operators on Hythe Quay at Maldon are facing a huge increase in mooring and parking charges from Maldon District Council which all are fighting. However the council is not looking at the wider issues relating to what it proposes. The Thames Sailing Barge Trust is unable to afford a 94% rise in charges and neither can the other operators. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tillingham Road, Tillingham in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 295m east of its junction with Rushes Lane for a distance of approximately 60m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th June 2019 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC005CN17W012JUNEA4ATD01 – BT). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole removal works are undertaken by BT.
